Ching, what is your plan for a future fish list?
Hi Ching
one question please
I 've noticed that your return drains in the main display are below the water level and do not use overflow.
I figure that you do this in order to have less noise... and a slim look
So Do you have any problem with superficial organic "film" on the main tank?
How you control water level? dynamically by the use of return valves?
You have enough capacity in your sump to hold that 10 cm o more of water in case of an energy failure?
thanks
Claudio
please forgive me if you already answered this questions, I got lost in such a huge thread jajaja
Hey ching, I forgot to ask- Do you have any inverts or fish in the softie tank or just coral, sponges and tunicates?
Hi Chingchai,
What is your preference to treat AEFW or Red Bug?
Thanks
Mo
Chingchai, it has taken me a while to get through your thread, and I am at a loss for words to describe your system. Everything about it is amazing. I hope it will bring much joy to you for many years to come.
Here you go:
- Ventralis Anthias
- Garibaldi Damsel
- Carmabi
- Achiless Tang
- Snowflake Clownfish
- Rhomboid Fairy Wrasse
- Gemmatum Tang
- Helfrichi Firefish
etc.
Other than just "a lot" approximatelay how much do you suppose a setup including the livestock would cost? Just Guesstimate...
The cost of this setup can buy a sports car or either a nice house.
But I prefer to spend it on this small fish room.
Hope you can guesstimate the number.![]()
Why decorate the qt tank? it seems a little counter productive, a few bits of Thai pipe would have done the trick and they are easy to remove and scrub clean if you need to medicate., Do you have any fish in qt? I can look after your resplendant for a while if youlike![]()

Amazing setup!
Wow, absolutely amazing.
I skimmed through all 136 pages tonight :O
I've got a few build questions for you:
1) Did you take the white marble all the way up on the walls to the ceilings in the main tank room? Or did you use another material on the walls?
2) What did you wrap main hood, stand & rim in? White acrylic?
3) You said you used just hi-gloss wooden panels for the sliding doors? Did you buy them like this or paint them with the high gloss white yourself?
4) Did you also use a high gloss white on the inside of all of the cabinets? It looks like you used good finish wood - everything looks perfect cuts & all.
5) What did you use to label all the plumbing & mixing tank? I think you said stickers, but did you buy them from some where or print them up on your computer or something?
6) Where did you get your sensor switches & what do they control again exactly?
7) How do you like the STICK with Phillips 8 color changing LED strip? (are there different colored LED's or does the single LED change multiple colors? - if so, what strip did you get exactly from phillips)
Every Garibaldi i have seen in reef tanks have not lasted long, they are really a temperate fish. I love Carambis, how about a pair!!!
As far as my wife is concerned everything is $20 when I get back from the LFS.
agoutihead. Thank you. Maybe you skimmed too fast.
1. Marble is decorated on the wall.
2. http://www.staron.com/tempest/products.jsp
3. It is custom-made
4. Inside cabinet is plain white painting. Not hi-gloss.
5. My interior designer design the font and let the shop print it out.
6. I buy it from electric appliance shop. But we didn't use light sensor switch no more. It is not workable.
7. I am happy with this STICK+LED. It is not Philips. I don't know what brand it is. I will ask my interior designer for you.

No way. I can't live with conventional QT tank. It is not my preference.
That's why I want to make it looks like FOWLR tank.
These fake corals can be easily removed whenever I want to catch fishes.
And the other thing, I won't try to use any medicine.
Here is the update of my QT tank. I am waiting for the sump to be installed.
