DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Chingchai,

I'm not sure if you have listed anywhere in this thread, but can you advice the complete photoperiod for all lightings in your system?

Thank you.

Raj

Haksar. Thanks a lot.
I won't lose my hope for sure.
I will re-scape my right side. It is too crowded.

BTW, I haven't seen you in BKK for a while.
Come and get some frag from Paul and Moddy. Will you?

I was planning this month but all flights are full.Lets see.
I am missing BKK big time and its been 2 years since I was last there.

Where is Paul these days no news from him.Would love to see Moddy's tank as well.

chingchai. although we are all so relieved that you, your family, home, and aquarium were spared in the flooding, our hearts go out to you and your countrymen. I could feel your sadness in your statements. And I just had to smile when I saw your post looking for local fish stores while on your business trip. I hope you found some good ones!

Perhaps you just need another visit from an elephant.

Fiish. Thank you.
Ventralis is one of my most favorite fish as well.

Ventralis Anthias form a beautiful picture, would look good next to my Regal Angel, unfortunately it is extremely difficult to get them in my city :thumbdown
I hope in the not too distant future become a trio with some of them

Sir maybe the pair of masked angelfish can motive you again! Lol

Most of us go through that cycle sir!
You're not the only one
Even though you have the best tank in the world right now.

Just a short notice:
Guys, sorry for the lack of updating.
I have lost my motivation since the flood. Don't know why.
I am trying to get back to my normal enthusiasm. Only time will tell.
Also planning to do a little change on my aquascaping due to some overgrowth and some dead corals.

Sometimes i felt like you feel now, That enthusiasm can not be forced. It will back but we don't know when. You are right time will tell. Maybe try new toys and new live stock will help much to get your mood back. Cheers

Anton

Hey chingchai,

keeping a real coral reef in this size and beauty is a blessing and a curse the same time.
Facing a real problem is not done by changing water and living rocks ;-). This are several tons of water and I guess some 100kgs of rocks.
Knowing WHAT and in what scale will happen if you drop maintenance for a time or don't react on new problems immediately... over the years, this certainly is a burden.

Well there is a return...
You have this beauty in your home.

I can only guess, that with all this suffering and real threats next to you and your family,
the "burden" part gets a lot more room than "beauty".

I also feel my reef as a burden from time to time. Usually this gets better with new projects and ideas. But hey, it's ok to step back some time and do only the most demanding.
As you of course already know... Part of success is hard work and getting through things like this.

Thats just my personal view.
In admiration,
Ralf

Sorry to hear about the rough time.
I have no doubt that your passion will be back stronger than ever.

The funny thing in the hobby is that it is more expensive then anything and frusterating at times but the frusteration and the love of the hobby take our minds of everything else. I still watch my tank when im frusterated and when I need to do a full maintiance on it I still feel at ease even if its 4 hours of work. Your tank is what makes me want a bigger tank. 220 gallon tank that I have simply seems like a guppy tank and I cannot wait to build our next tank. The wife gave me permission to build the big one and I cannot wait to do it 10 ft one way x 2ft then 4 ftx2ft the other in a corner in the wall I give up some days but cannot get frusterated for some reason haha.

Dear Chingchai,

I have been following the news from Thailand quite close and scenes are really disturbing, but i am sure that Thai People will recover its smile and hospitality very soon. Big hug from Chile and I know that soon you will recover your enthusiasm that motivate us to grow as a reef keepers!!!

Ching, I have been too busy to keep up with the news of the world: how are the conditions now?

My students and I are all hoping that all of your family safe and sound. We still follow your tanks closely

Sorry guys for being disappeared for a while.
I will come back soon.
Just give me time to regain my passion.

Now I am so tired and boring.

I'm just getting my interest back after a bit of a break. The maintenance phase is never as inspiring as starting with a fresh project.

You have inspired me over the past year, now let's see what we can accomplish in 2012. :celeb3::celeb1::beer::celeb2::ape::fish1::bounce1::bdaysmile::smurf::blown:

Hi Chingchai,

Hope all is well over in Bangkok. It's weird to think of all what's happened there when I was just there a few months ago. I hope your enthusiasm returns because you are the best of the best in this hobby. Visiting you and your tank was by far one of the highlights from my trip to Bangkok. I'm excited to see the new layout. Have a happy new year!
