Hi ellecubo, thanks !

I made holes in the live rock and put them on top of a PVC pipe.

This is a picture of when it was just set up. ( 3 years ago )

I have changed the position of the rocks several times but have left the center colum.

So what exactly are you using for water movement? I know you mentioned Tunze... Where are they placed and are they on a controller?

Hi Ccondo,

I have 4 Tunze 6101 on a multi controller. I love how they do their job but I hate how they look.

I kind of like the way the Streams look :)
Have you considered EcoTech Vortech pumps? (Are they available in Europe/220v?)

Yes we can get them here but the magnets are not strong enough for my 20mm glass. Tunze also has magnetic hook ups but also only up to 19mm. :(

Oh that sneaky 1mm...

Yeah the Vortechs are only rated to 3/4".. 19mm
But the SureGrip 100 I am using for my Tunzes are being used on my 19mm glass, and I think they'd be fine even after 2-3mm more.
Perhaps the Vortechs are like that also? Although of course that'd mean they could fall off easier.

Thanks tbone28 and lapja !

They didn't really fall off but they were not stable enough. Especially if you put the controller on full blast.

well if you want to get rid of those vortechs I'm actually looking at buying some right now. I'm in England so I could either pop over to pick them up or postage would not be rediculous. Let me know via PM if your interested.

Awesome pictures by the way. I love the look of that top heavy pillar with the birdsnest on top, very nice looking.

Teejo, thanks !

Thirschmann, I think you misundertood. I don't have Vortechs. I have Tunzes. I hate the way they look but I love what they do.
Thanks for the compliments !

To bad I just saw this thread. I was in Amsterdam for work last week. Nice tank!!!!!

Thanks mbunaman !

Don't forget to stop by ( and maybe book a room ) next time you visit Amsterdam.

It has been a while since my last update. I had a problem with the calcium reactor which resulted in an alk spike. Result was death of my big seriatopora colonies and STN in some acropora.
All is stable again and things are recovering slowly.
