I also use ATI Powermodules, and hope to have tank as beautiful as yours one day!

What is your bulb configuration? Have you ever tried ATI bulbs? Are you still happy with your KZ skimmer?

Thanks tbone28 ! I still have the 5 kz coral light and 3 kz fiji purple per power module and am also still very happy with the kz skimmer.
I never tried ATI bulbs but have heard good things about them.

I was at the hotel back in April '07 and nice to see the tank continuing to do so well, and congrats on keeping the montis not only alive but thriving.
I hope to be back in the Netherlands this summer and will certainly make time to stop in again.

Out of hundreds of large tanks I have seen on fish forums etc this has to be one of the most striking and colourfull ever! It just takes your breath away :) Its a wonder you ever get any work done, lol I'd never leave the front of the tank ;)

Thank you littleme1969 and Justjoe !

Joe, I think I was lucky that my coral banded shrimps found out that monti nudis taste d*mn good ! Look forward to meet you in person this time !

jan,
thanks for the behind the scene tour of your tank. i really appreciated it. now that my wife knows what a real tank suppose to look like she can now appreciate what i'm trying to accomplish! she was also impressed with your tank to say the least. i also want to mention that you have one beautiful hotel there and that i'm truely let down that you were booked out when i was visiting holland. not only is your hotel beautiful but it also has excellent location to just about everything amsterdam has to offer and to central station where you can hit just about anywhere in holland or europe. I also went over to Martin's house to view his tank. I can see why he won hollands best tank 2 times. His tank is truely awesome. If you ever decide to visit us here in florida, just drop us a line or email and i will surely take time to show you around.

JWRE - Love your tank, thanks for sharing, I really liked the pics with the new camera. A while ago you posted that you change your sand every three months. Why? Do you see any benefit to it? I have never heard of doing that.

Also, have you had to start pruning your corals yet, the growth has been awsome.

Cheers

Steve

I have changed my skimmer. This is the Korallen Zucht revolution (large version )

What was the reason you wanted to change from the BK to KZ?

Hi Steve, thanks ! Changing the sandbed can help improve the colour of the corals. The dirt that piles up in the sand is incredible.

Until now the only coral I had to prune is the pink birdsnest.

What was the reason you wanted to change from the BK to KZ?

I just had a feeling this would be a good decision.
My feeling was good. I will never go back.

Did you want to try KZ mainly because you thought it would be a better choice? In other words, did the BK treat you well, but you felt the KZ would still be an upgrade?

Or did you want to make the switch because you had a bad experience with BK?

BK is a great skimmer but I think the KZ has something extra.
It is much easier to clean and operate and I like the idea of 'gentle' skimming.

Just some new pictures.
