Hi Nick, thanks ! That was the Hyacinthus from my tank. It was scary to lift it out of the water. :eek1: I already poured you a cup of capuccino. :beer:

Thank you glaukos ! I change the sandbed when it becomes too dirty.
Usually every couple of months. I take parts out with water changes.
I never take out the whole bed to prevent stress to the system. Not that the fish get stressed easily. They are used to lots of movement around the tank. It is situated in the lobby of one of the busiest hotels in Amsterdam. :crazy1:
The corals love the extra light reflection of the new and clean sandbed.

Love the aquascape and how the corals are just growing out of water,its impressive. What do you think the biggest help in attaining the growth of your corals,is it the zeovit system? I know it is popular with european aquarist,we are a bit behind in the states.

I don't know if this is because of zeovit. I like this system but there are many other very good systems to keep nutrients in check. I god hooked to it because of Iwan Lasser's tank.( when he still used Zeovit ) I think the most important factor to achieve good growth and colour is stability over a long period.
