Dwarf Fuzzy Lion...killer, or softie? A photo essay...with some text :)

Yeah, I was wondering about that. I really didn;t notice it until about a week ago. There were few days where it seemed like he did. Since he started eatting more he's been really active. Bfore that he was lying around more, looking like he was just waiting in ambush, but much less active overall than now.

Bells started going off when I realized he was looking to be cleaned but I don't see any signs of disease on him. Not only that, he is more active than before. He's eatting gut loaded Ghost shrimp, and if it moves right, he'll nab some Mysis when I feed everyone else.

For what it's worth, I dont believe they really do much for disease, so just because you cant see any visible signs of disease doesnt mean anything. The cleaner type shrimp basically remove dead skin cells and that is about it. There have been scientists who do analysis of cleaner shrimp guts and dont find any ich or other parasites, and the shrimp have been harvested from a tank that contained fish covered in ich. I wish I could remember where I found that article.

Anyway, I wouldnt worry too much. I liken it to getting your back scratched, it feels good and you could get it done every hour, like the little dwarf lion wants, it isnt going to hurt anything, he just likes the feeling of getting cleaned.

actually, no, not at all. He caused me some fret early on because he wouldn't eat. Once he started eatting he is fine. He's a pig now, an eatting machine. From what I have read they are quite hardy and disease resistant too. I have become quite fond of him!
