Dwarf Lion Eating Frozen While Still Frozen

I've recently got a dwarf lionfish that is trained to eat frozen. I've fed it frozen mysis which he goes crazy for.
The question is, he eats a huge chunk (about 1/2 a dime size) of frozen mysis right out of the tongs while it's still frozen.
Is it going to hurt him that he's basically swallowing an ice cube?
I try to shake it so small pieces come off the large chunk but he just attacks the entire chunk right out of the tweezers and has no interest in the smaller floating bits.

That is not ideal. Have you tried a bigger mysis shrimp, like PE? Krill is good too. Chunks of uncooked cocktail shrimp works well too.

you could always thaw it before you feed

every time i feed frozen i take a couple ounces of tank water and throw my mysis inside to thaw it. a few mins later i add it to the tank.
