EARS meeting?

Ok fellow reefers. I am trying to get a possible head count of those interested in attending this months meeting this weekend on Saturday. I havent gotten any feedback as to what you guys want to do at the meeting or even if anyones actually going to attend. I am pleading to keep EARS alive and continuing. But without any feed back or anyone else steping up to help i fear EARS will be dying a slow death. If anyone is interested in helping to get this club up and going please feel free to send me a pm and let me know you can help and if anyone is going to attend let me know too or else i feel that the meeting this Saturday is going to have to be canceled. Its supposed to be at Aqua Escapes in Oxford @2 but if there isnt more then just one or two interested then its going to be canceled. So far nobody has said they would come nor do we have a game plan as to what we are going to do. I was looking for advise in a previous post but didnt get any help there as to what the other clubs do at their meetings so I am basically clueless as to what to do.. We had wanted a guess speaker to attend but he was wayyyyyyyy out of our budget since we dont really have a membership to pay for things like that yet. so unless we can come up with ideas or people going to attend i am at a loss as to what else to do. I had hoped that the word would get out at the lfs but i dont think it did. i think the date was forgotten in a mix up which is the only other way besides on here to let people know about the meeting. so if anyone wants to help out at the last minute and get this meeting back on track please let me know asap.
 
I dont know snuggles I would like to try to come to some meetings and I know there are others. The last meeting that shawn tried to do did not work because of confusion on times and changes as well as football season. but there were some recomendation posts back the to the affect that if you want it you just gotta do it.... set a time and place and move forward...let as many folks know as possible and hope things build momentum. I almost wonder if shawn and some others maybe arent showing interest now because of the change of venue i.e. not at tropical. so maybe rotate stores whatever... as far as a meeting now KISS comes to mind.(keep it simple) I am pretty dense on general stuff or have just never done it such as zoo fraggin or fragin in general or some coral id and care. even puttyin zoos to tonga branch (thanks aqua eacapes) (also thanks for the trap. Hope I get him this weekend.) so anyway just my thoughts and I would be glad to try to help

Thanks rugdog. I would love some help. I am going to take your advise and go ahead with the planned meeting tomorrow at 2. :D (if you build it they will come) just joking , But yes we will keep it simple too. Maybe frag some zoos or something. Slice up a mushroom too. Also i will bring my laptop and maybe if anyone wants to bring their memory card we can look at some pictures of their livestock and tanks. SD and XD fit on my laptop if anyone is interested in showing off their tanks
 
ok great I will do all I can to come and support....I dont know what i can do but i will try to do anything!

cool now im getting excited :D does anyone want to trade anything. i got some little blueish purple mushrooms, a small gsp, maybe some xenia if anyones interested i can bring them to the meeting. ~Carrie
 
Well nobody showed up :( but thats ok cause i still got to show Scott who works at aqua escapes how I frag a leather and some zoas which I gave to him when we were done. ~Carrie
 
aww...sorry i didnt keep up with the thread...i sure would have liked to learn how to frag a leather and zoas cuz i have both that need some work done to them
 
snuggle2me, Sorry about last month but I had to work th at weekend. Do you have any plans to try a March meeting? I would love to get involved if you do and can schedule on my weekend off. I'll even drag my son d-inlaw there if I can.

Is there a March meeting planned? Ive got to come down to the Jacksonville Area at the end of the month to hunt for a job. My wife and I will be moving back down to Anniston to go back to school. I will be making my usual rounds to Valley tropical and Aqua Escapes. But if there is a meeting I will plan my trip around that. Let me know!
 
I can either come down on the 22nd or the 29th. If there is a meeting I would love to come to it. Shoot, If I wasnt 3hrs away I would even help get it organized. As for the frag trade, I don't have any frags for trade right now but I do have some used equipment I would like to get rid of before the move. Let me know!
 
BTW, If anybody knows of, or can reccomend some appartments in the Jacksonville/Anniston area let me know. I'm lookin for a 2 bedroom 2 bath around $375ish-$450ish. Thanks!
 
i will see if my dad has a house open...if he does you can probably take a look at...they are well cared for by the saks highschool...i think they are 3 bedroom 2 bath for around 400 i think
 
I wish we could get some interest in ears. I think there is a ****in match between the 2 stores but with new interest from a few folks maybe something can be kindled...speak up for valley shawn or tropical snuggles
 
Hopefully we can get interest brewing.

Maybe if we can find a more neutral location for a meeting to take place. When the wife and I get moved down there we would be more than happy to host a meeting. I have a few prop tanks I plan on setting up. It wont be much, but it will be something to look at while we swap coral and what-not. But that will be a few months off. Possibly as late as July. It all depends on how long it takes me to sell my house up here in Tuscumbia.

We certainly need to support both stores, because withouth them we're left with PetSmart. Oxford is very fortunate to be blessed with multiple LFS. We need to take advantage of it.

I don't know anything about the competition going between the LFS's. But I imagine its fairly heated.

I don't really know where Im going with all of this...just my mind rambling I guess. Anyway, Lets get this thing going!

BTW, I'm coming down the 29th. That's my vote for the meeting date. :)
