Ebay MH bulbs

I have to disagree, I just got a Phoenix 14k for christmas today, and the color is very similar to the Plusrite 20k, maybe just a tiny bit bluer. I was shocked that they were so similar, cause the Phoenix cost almost 3x as much. I havent tried the Plusrite 22k, but maybe that might be the 20k radium type blue you are looking for.
The Plusrite 14k looks more like a 10k though.
I'll try to do side by side photos of both the phoenix and 20k later.

I have used the Plusrite 20K form trust_deals and they were fine. I was thinking about getting 3 of the 22K because it have been 8months since I I replaced them. Has anyone purchase the 22K before and notice a slight change in a deeper blue. Also if you have pic to share we will love to see them

I purchased a set of 150w 22k's today. I will report back in a few days, and let you know what the color is like

Interesting thread. Although you guys need some PAR measurements with apples to apples readings. Same reflectors, ballast ect.
I know someone that uses Ebay bulbs(not sure which one) here locally in a very nice 300G reef. He uses a PAR meter and says he only gets 5-6 months out of the bulbs but still likes them. Although the color in his corals is lacking IMHO.
Also pics taken the first day is too soon for a break in pic.
My XM 20Ks took 3 days to lose the purple ting.

Not only am I interested in the color of the 22k ( I have 20k and they look good, but will the 22k look more blue), I am also interested/confused about your avatar being that you are in CT.

What ballast are you using? There is a huge difference in the 14k and 20k.
The Plusrite 20k on my unit is very close in color to the Phoenix 14k, with the phoenix only slightly bluer. I have to still take a comparison shot when I have time. Yes the Phoenix looks a little better, but not $40 better. The only thing I cant measure is PAR between the bulbs. I got the Phoenix for christmas so obviously I will be using it going forward, but the 20k is no slouch. When you buy a bunch of bulbs to save on the shipping, it makes a very nice deal, especially if you have multiple MH lamps.

I'm hoping for a deeper blue tint with the 22k's..the price is right, even if I don't end up liking them!

I'm using the Ballast that came with outer orbit light fixture made by current. I can tell a huge differance. I'm not bashing plus rite at all. The guy took care of me but I can tell a diff in the bulbs. I paid 50.00 each for my new Zphoenix bulbs with free shipping. I would like to see the 22k bulbs for a comparison.

I think the quality of teams you play makes a huge difference. Lets see, #1, #2, #5, and NCAA "Runner-up" of 2008 Michigan State, and also the total points of defeat were not many.

I sent back a 20k today that began shutting off after 10 days with horrible customer service.

I'm not here to bash the company ,only say that you get what you payfor .

I now have cyno probably do to massive red spectrum shift on a previously pristine, corals growing "out of control" tank.

It has been over three weeks and no lights yet:mad2:......horrible customer service I have sent them numerous emails and they keep telling me please allow few more days for delivery!!!!!!! I even called about 20 times and left massages but no one has called me back.

I see your in Canada. Doesn't it take longer to have packages shipped?
