Ecotech Radion ~vs~ AquaIllumination SOL ~vs~ Vertex Illumina

That's kind of a tough one really. I would do either 2 x 36" modules side by side, or 4 x 12" modules. The 4 x 12" is going to be a bit cheaper, but obviously lower PAR Levels inbetween the modules somewhat.

Thanks, Jeremy. So with 4 x 12", will there be a concern with 24" height tank with LPS on the sand bed?

If you are doing only LPS! You will probably have to dim it down!
As for Light-bleedI have mine 2.5" away from he water, gets splashed but looks great!
The Aluminum iseasy to clean and doesn't rust!
2 x 3"er will be super-lit! Probably have to dim it way down if its only LPS!

Cheers,
Dave

So, now that the Vega is out, it looks like the Radion is still king? The Vega is running 20 LED's versus the Radion's 34. Plus it looks as if we'll see 2 more with the new TIR lens.
Unfortunately the price difference is steep, but looks like the Radion might still be the fixture to beat?

My 220 (72x24x30) is begging for LED's and I just can't figure which way I should go.

Check out the new GHL Mitras , I ordered three for my 220, same tank as yours...

True, Im taking down my canopy to run them. All it did was house the unsightly reflectors for my MH's anyways. They have a version coming out that can be housed in canopys though. If you look at the specs of the Mitras though, they blow the radion away 2 times over. I had three radions in my shopping cart about to order, and stumbled across the mitras here on RC, glad I did. I wanted the radions to have to sync with my MP60's but I can always get a proflux later anyways...

I have a test I'm doing right now that will include the Illumina 360, AI Vega, and the Kessil A350 and A350w. It will be a little while longer until the results are available though. I'm using a new format to test which is much more time consuming per module.

Jeremy B thanks for taking the time to test all of this top end equipment. the kessil A350W and the new vegas are on my short list. subscribed. think I'll go check out premium aquatics web site!

Great thread the best iv found on LEDs
Iv go 3 sols on my 5x2x2 with 70/70 and I'm very happy with them
Why are some people talking about adding a couple of Fiji purples ? Is it growth or visual ?
Looking forward the the next tests

Awsome I'm upgradeing to a 300 gallon and wanna get led but I'm confused on which to get I have a kessil a350 on a 60 gallon cube and it is visually by far my favorite looking led light so far .but I'm not sure if it would work for my 300 gallon

I should have a big update right after the Holidays. It will include a lot of the new, as well as older, LED modules that are out now. It will also be a much easier way to do comparisons from one module to the other by looking at graphs, etc.

Just read through the thread, Thank you for the information you have provided so far. Looking forward to your results and opinions on the Illumina 360, AI Vega, and the Kessil A350 and A350w.

So any updates?
