My tank has egg crate bottom. A few pieces of my live rock are very large and I didn't want to risk cracking the bottom. Anyway I've ordered an LTA due to arrive tomorrow. It just occured to me that the egg crate could be a problem for the LTA... I imagine he wouldn't be able to put his foot down because of this...

Any comments? Advice?

They dont tend to like it- use it to your advantage. Put a thin sheet of plexi uner the sand on top of the eggcrate where you want him. He might not walk away from the smooth surface. I have seen them attatch to eggcrate- wolesalers use it or astroturf to make the anemones easy to remove, but they prefer a good glass grip- usually at the base of a rock with deep sand around it.

Eggcrate has never been an issue for me w/ any of my sand dwellars, and my last LTA/doreensis stayed put on eggcrate for 5 and half years.(under a DSB of course)
