Elegance coral show off thread

My old Australian Elegance that got killed when my daughter got behind the tank somehow and got ahold of the digital readout heater control and maxed it out (she is two). (I lost 99% of everything in that tank. Only some feather/tube worms and some zoas/palys survived. About $2k corals lost at my costs, the Acanath Bowerbanki you can see in the one photo...the purple/gold cost me $250...it would have retailed for close to $400-500+ alone.)

Just bought a large 8" bright green elegance, from all the pics I see they like to be on the sand bed or on the bottom part of the aquariums and like low flow?

Can they tolerate any medium flow and lighting?

THX in advance

Hi,

my Elegance is just about 10cm away from the surface under 150W HQI + 4x24W T5 and doin fine.
The flow is temporaly strong there. As you can see, the tunze 6025 powerhead blows one side of the Coral directly in intervals.

Sry for my bad english.....................

Lars

Edit. Sry, the Tunze 6025 is hardly to spot.

Here is my elegance coral that I got in Oct 2009. It has been one of the hardiest corals I have had in my tank and it isn't even phased when the clowns decide to take a dive bomb inside of it.

Mine retracks into the skeleton for a few hours during the nights and then expands again during the day.

Elegance corals are one of my favorites! Here in this thread are some really amazing ones.

Here are a couple of pics of mine.

Just got this guy. Opened up within 20 minutes of being in my tank. Does he look ok? stressed out? healthy?

Picked up this Tyree Elegance yesterday. I'm not normally one for "named" coral but it looked great at the LFS and the price was reasonable.

Looked it up when I got home and now glad to be part of such a long and successful lineage..

The purple tentacles with pink tips don't show well in the pics.
