eliminating green pocillapora

True but trying to have variety and not one dominant and being able to choose wisely where you place your corals instead them popping underneath others at the base and growing from there. They will get out of hand in a hurry!

And the other issues is how fast it grows. When I wiped out all my mini colonies, my alk and cal consumption was cut in half. I figured why pay to dose, and then I'm killing them off anyway.

They grow fast, and they have a very very strong sting. Not to mention they never seem to pop up out of the way or in spots you can't access "¦ They pop up right in a spot that would be perfect for other corals "¦ or right beside a very expensive hard to keep coral, and then start causing problems lol

Very hot RO in a 60ml syringe with 1/4" JG tubing about a foot long works a treat for quickly killing as much tissue as you want, i used to use kalk but you are limited by how much you can use in one session. Also works exceptionally well when you want to stop one acro over encrusting another and allows very precise and instant 'termination' of the unwanted growth.
Thanks Niggles I will give this a try

I never posted pics of my infestation. This is how all my rocks look in my tank. Those Pink millepora are about the only thing that wins against the pocillopora in my system. When they get about 1/2", I can break them off and mount them on a frag plug. But when there's hundreds and hundreds of them, this becomes impractical quickly! Usually have to end up kalking a bunch of them. The mother colony is about an 8" sphere. Once it got to about 4" sphere is when it started to spawn.
