Elton's reef tank in Taiwan

Butt-ugly , you mean the lighting stand?

About bulbs I use just because I have two sets of Blue LED on it, if I use another blue bulb , like ATI blue plus, it really become too much blue for my tank.
Therefore I use lagoon blue instead of blue +.

No the bulbs, the lighting stand is very nice. The combo of bulbs is very very red/yellow. It's just different tastes, here in the US we use a lot more blue, at least 50% in a lot of cases. The corals like the blue, so it's really never too blue for the corals:)

I see.
And what your suggestions for the bulbs?
Remove 2 of pink or Aquablue?
Or stay current but change AP700 color from ocean blue 4 to 3 (or 2)?

I don't always like to give suggestions as far as bulbs go since color is a personal preference. However, I would say that If I had that Miniature Sun above my tank, I would set it up with the following:

If I had to use
DD Giesemann:

2 Aquapinks
3 Actinic Plus
3 Lagoon Blue
2 Actinic

But I would Prefer ATI:
2 Actinic
3 Coral Plus
3 Blue plus
2 Purple Plus(or even better KZ Fiji Purple)

Then I'd tune the Kessill to create a neutral white to bluish white light.

To show you graphically the difference, here are some spectrums of the different combos we are talking about. This is your combo now, lots of red and yellow:

This is what one of the most popular combos looks like:

This is the combo I'm suggesting:

Just my opinion of course - but with that much light over your tank I think you run a risk of cooking everything in general. The more red light, the higher the risk.

I do have the bulbs you mentioned on hand.
So today I turn off 2 bulbs of pink and 2 of Aquablue first. It looks like more blue.
But on the other hand from what you consider, it seems you are not included the 2 sets of blue led aside pink bulbs. Is any impact on the color?

Sorry, I do not have the bulbs.

It will be more blue for sure, if you really dislike it it's up to you as to whether to add back the pinks. Even if it seems too blue for you I guarantee the corals will like it.

I will tell you that the Aquablue pluses are pretty harsh- when I used them I had fish with sunburns on their heads. Seriously. The lagoon blue are a nice looking bulb though.

I am totally agree with you.
In fact only 6 days after I complete change the lights some of my corals are becoming a little slight color.
So after your suggestion I just turn off the Aquablue and pink bulbs first. I need some more days to see how they will be. I may buy the ATI Blue plus to instead of Aquablue bulbs.

By the way, some of my friends want to know where you get software for checking mix spectrum? Any link on internet?

To my eyes, the colors in the with pics look a little deeper. They seem a bit light in the without pics.

I like the kessil shots better.
More contrast and more color pop.
Not too blue at all..

MORE contrast - Kessil AP700 win.

Another vote for with. Colors have more pop, less washed out, great contrast. I do not see it as overly blue at all... In fact I am really liking the color spectrum it looks like it's providing.

Thanks guys.

It is another record of 3 weeks vacation that away from my tank.
The pic took on 1/23

I am not sure it works or not due to internet block.

Who cleans your glass when you are on vacation?

My tank is ULNS so after 10-12 days the glass will have slight algae, if it will not make problem on taking photo I will just let them as it.

But if it makes problem on taking photo I will call my house keeper to my home to clean the glass.

But some of my friends request me to buy a glass clean robot. But I do not know it can be controlled thru. internet or not. It may be became our next project.

I was leaving my tank 24 days for my Chinese New Year vacation. This tank reset in the end of Jan. so noting to show in this update.

The only thing feel good is our KHG still working stable and watching my tank for me in past 24 days.

Really good to see the survivors.

I do see what looks like Redbugs on this piece. Upper middle and lower left.
