Elton's reef tank in Taiwan

Really good to see the survivors.

I do see what looks like Redbugs on this piece. Upper middle and lower left.

I checked but I did not see any redbugs.
May be is just some dust on it.

Thanks again.

Is the only change in the last few months the addition of the AP700s?

Is the only change in the last few months the addition of the AP700s?

Not only add the light AP700 but change some rocks. In the past month I have a big issue from the fish food so I cook my rocks and also buy some fresh live rocks.
However it seems these changes make me more problem.

Good question..
Just wondering.. Is extreme measures necessary? Maybe 50 snails would clear that up...
It does not work at all.
I bought 50pcs of Saron marmoratus (shrimp), 90pcs of Hermit crabs and many snails the problem still become serious and serious.

Your tank sounds like is basically going through another cycle from the rock change. If it was dead rock, you basicaly just removed all the good bactera within the rock. If it was new lr, you could be dealing withthe dieoff. Anyways i wouldnt do anything drastic if your corals are fine. If you lacking surface area for more bacteria, may i suggest the addition of siporax or matrix??

My tank has been algae plagued for the past 2 mnths but corals are doing great. Algae is ugly but imo is there to compensate with the problems in our tank. Good luck fixing this problem

You got the point, firstly some of my corals turn white from bottom so I can not do nothing on my tank.
Secondly mt total water volume is about 1000L, I was tried to put 20ML of Bak in once just think adding more good bacteria may help the bad situation. However after 3 weeks past it still at not good situation.

From previous experience. Adding bacteria/carbon dosing is not the answer. I know this from personal experience and almost crashed my tank. Even when you hit UNLS, algae will continue to grow which tricks you thinking there is nutrients in your tank. I would go back to the basics and stop dosing whatever you are doing. Every other method there is something else you need to keep track of. Small continuous waterchanges + carbon your way out of the problem, it has never failed me.

From my experience the algae is from Organic Nutrition. continuing changing water is a not bad solution but from second picture you can see there is another problem "bad bacteria" it is eating the corals...

So I am doing the extreme method now.

I do not know it can be shown on RC or not but just share my personal experience for how to deal with extended vacation.

If it is not allowed please let me know.
