Emperor Angelfish development pix

I wish that I'd taken more pix of Junior while he was growing up :)

Liz- you're right: that last photo was taken before the move so it was already somewhat dated when I posted it. I've yet to take a good picture of junior since the move.

updated photo taken today

Will he out grow your tank Gary? Or is he about done..Nicest one I've seen in a "smaller" type of aquarium..

thanks.........

thanks.........

I believe Junior is done growing in length.
I hope Junior is done growing in length!

He's around 11" now.

IMO he's not too large for my aquarium at this size because he's not a big swimmer like certain Tangs (Naso spp.)

Nice fish, and nice tank! I have an emp hes around 5-6 " and growing quickly. I have mostly sps and hes great with them. Nips at some of the acans and totally wiped out a huge patch of polyps . I actually was hoping he would eat them cause i had no way to get them out and they were spreading rapidly, more room for sps now

My God Gary! When is he due back at Seaworld? Any bigger and he can be a contestant on Biggest Loser. He is a spectacular fish!!!

Great tank and beautiful Emperor. Does it bother any SPS? Are you running ULNS? How often and what do you feed the fishes?

(as always) thanks for your compliments, questions, etc.

(as always) thanks for your compliments, questions, etc.

my Emperor rarely (if ever) bothers corals.

I don't run a "traditional" ULNS. No carbon dosing, no Zeovit or any other new fangled ULNS methods. This is essentially a tricked out Berlin Method aquarium- very similar to how I ran my first reef aquarium back in the early '90's.
I do perform regular wet skim water changes, skim 24/7, run a RDSB, run a lit refugium 24/7 that contains macroalgae and (last but not least) run GAC actively.

More info on my aquarium can be found under the thread
