Enough lighting for a carpet anenome?

I don't doubt it can be done, but I would think you'd be harder pressed to do it with your specific setup. I've seen the PAR readings for that particular optical configuration and they don't have the power at greater depths. I have probably brought back anemones in less light, but this species is a bit more demanding than most of the others I've "saved," however. I'd either use a narrower optic or get more of them (preferably both). The lighting in the user had in that thread is more intense from the numbers I've seen.

In my case, I am looking at using these for a haddoni. I also had some other options in my thread posted earlier.

Good point. I had simply seen the word "gigantea" and kinda made that assumption. Still, it would largely depend on the kind of PAR on the sand bed and the kind of coverage that occurs at the same time.
idk i have a plate coral at the bottom of my tank and it is thriving so i think i have enough light?

kidding aside, LEDs can do it IME, but it's probably very unit specific. i think i was really lucky. take note that initially when i was bringing it back in those recovery pics it was in a biocube29 with these two AI lights above it, maybe 5 inches above water line, and the tank was only about 16 inches deep.
Nem seems to be doing well in current setup which is deeper, lights higher off water, and less intensity (used to be at 70%w, 75% blue i think, now 40%w 60% blue), but I am considering maybe adding a spotlight on the nem just for some extra love that the corals cant handle. I've also been feeding more lately.

I wouldn't think 1 Par38 is enough. I think several could be enough, but agree with others that I would use tighter optics as well (40 degrees are the optics on my units). It will also depend how high above the tank you have the par38 suspended. If 1 is lighting your entire tank i would guess pretty high. suggest getting a PAR meter and seeing what kind of numbers you're putting out near sand bed before trying a live nem.
