I have a 45 gallon tank (15" tall) with 96 watt 10000K Daylight
96 watt True Actinic 03 Blue Compact Fluorescent Lamps (double lenear strip).

Is this enough for corals and clams? Or, maybe just ceratin types of corals?

a good way to look at it is to have anywhere from 5-10 watts per gallon. Obviously having ten you could almost keep anything you want.

PC lights really aren't sufficient for clams or LPS corals. You could keep some SPS and I thiink all softies, Xenia, Mushrooms, Zoos, etc.

Don't you mean the other way around? no SPS but he can keep LPS? thats what I recall being told. I've got 192W of PC's and I am keeping a kenya tree, zooanthids and a toadstool leather with great success. I've also read that many people have kept most clams by placing them on a high rock. Truth be told if you have the money it wouldn't hurt to try a frag of what your intested in, nothing too serious or expensive but you may find a certain coral that does great.

Clams are definitely a no. Don't skimp on lights. It's the most important part of your ecosystem. If the earth didn't have the sun, we'd be nowhere. Energy runs your tank and the lights provide that.

Yes I think he just mixed them up. I wouldn't try to keep a clam under pc's. Zoo's yes Softies Yes.

I wouldn't be too quick to say no to a calm. If you happen to find one thats not to expensive I'd go for it. Do a search, but when I was looking into what I could keep with my lighting I found quite a few accounts of people keeping clams with out issues.

If you try have it high up close to the lights and be sure to feed it.
