Eric's 300Gal Build!

Not to be a Jebao hater but I've had two of those DC-12000 severely reduce flow after about 10 months of use. Keep an eye on them!

While I know some of these go bad and I have to say that none of the ones I've used in the past have given me any problems. Thank you for the concern and just because they haven't failed on me doesn't mean I won't keep an eye on them.

Nice build.

Fwiw....You couldn't pay me to run a Jebao return pump. I run jebao wavemakers and can live with them, and if they randomly die one day thats fine. I would never rely on jebao for a primary life support piece like a return pump though. Definitely keep a backup on hand if your gonna risk running one of those! I'd buy a better more reliable pump myself...

Thank you and I understand these Jebao pumps have a bad reputation. I've been fortunate enough to not have any issues with them (WP & DC). Hopefully they keep working for me the way they have been but I know these are not the best pumps out there so I always keep a close eye on them and trust be the minute one gives me a headache I will definitely stop using them but for now I have no complains.

Great tank and build, looking forward to updates

Thank you!!

Wow, what a build, looking forward to following this one. Great job!!!

Thank you!!

Update - 12/21/2014

Sorry for the lack of updates but there hasn't been much going on to really give an update.

The tank has been cycling and we all now how slow the process is. In the meantime I've been getting a few things done when I have time because the last couple of weeks have been really busy at work.

I made a PVC stand for my skimmer and put a piece of 1/4" glass on top of the stand.

I build this panel to mount my apex and the modules I currently have and any other I get down the road.

Painted to match the stand

I also got a shipment from Ocean Revive with my lights. Total of 8 Arctic T247. I will only be using 6 on the display and one for my regifum. The extra one I will keep it as a backup.

Lay them out on top of the canopy to figure out how to mount and the spacing between each fixture.

Installed the supports for each light and the eye bolts Im going to use to hang them from the canopy.

Not the best picture but I finally have light in the tank"¦ Still have to do some adjustments to the fixtures.

Looks awesome! Whats your first impression on the lights, I love mine.

Thanks"¦. I like the lights I just need to adjust the intensity because right now is too white for me.

The only thing I do not like is that I can see the green light reflect on the rock. Maybe once the rock starts to get a natural color it'll be less noticeable. Only time will tell.

Update: 01/02/2015

This past weekend I was able to installed the doors on the canopy and stand. Haven't really taken many pictures but I was able to get a few with my phone (not the best). I still need to install the last two door which are on the right side of the stand and canopy.

I took a couple of pictures of the rock work and sorry for the crappy pictures but we all know how difficult it is to get decent pictures of our tanks under these blue lights and specially trying to do so with an iPhone.

Not sure why in the picture you can see different colors of lights but in person it's really not noticeable.

I have the same problem. I shared a bunch of tank pics and you can see the different LED colors plain as day. I don't see it with my eyes but in a pic it stands out.

I haven't taken any pictures with my DSLR camera but all the pictures I take with my phone look the same.

I'm happy to announce the cycle is complete!

Will probably add the fish few fish Sunday or Monday. I still need to do some cable management and finish the manifold for my reactors.
