ETSS skimmers

Looking to up grade from a ASM G2 needle wheel. I have an established 100gl reef but maybe 80 gl water vol. I am looking at an E.T.S.S. 800 xr down draft skimmer. I think this is going to be over kill for me but I feel that over kill for skimmers is ok.

My question is what is the best kind of skimmer out there these days? is it down draft, needle wheel, or recirc? and what are the benefits or draw backs of both?

My suggestion is a sro-2000 or xp-2000.

ETSS makes a great skimmer but I think your better off with a pin wheel powered skimmer.

Why upgrade if i already have a pin wheel type anyways, is there a significant advantage to a different design then my asm? My g2 is not broken but i jsut got a cpr recirc backpack on my nano and its way nice I was thinking about doin down draft or recirc for my bigger tank
