Euro-Reef Eheim NW Thread

Will there be Eheims for smaller ER units like the CS100?
I think the Eheims will only be for the RC skimmers. Yes, it would be too large for the small skimmers like the 80/100/135 that use SP2 or SP3 pumps. It is pretty much equivalent to an SP4. On the other end, the SP5 outperforms the Eheim, so I dont see it going on a RC250. The RC500, 750 use 2 and 3 SP4 pumps, so they may get them. All speculation on my part.

YES THEY WILL!!

i believe they are going to use the 1250's for the smaller skimmers. i have talked to Jeff quite a bit in the past and he said the new 1262 would be too much for my RC80. he told me they are going to use the 1250's. actually i think they are playing around w/ them in thier shop right now. not sure when they will be released but i'm sure we could guess before the 1st of the year. i am upgrading when they come out so keep your eyes pealed

I have the RC500 and I love mine as is

My question is: is it worth the extra $$$. whats the big difference?

Silence.

Thats all. These pumps are well worth their weight in gold to me, but to others it may simply be a waste of $$$...

Thanks for the clarification Hahn :)

Noise is usually a big concern for me, but my new 180G has a basement sump. Dont really care if the skimmer is quiet or not. The SP5 is actually not bad at all. The Gen-X Mak4 return pump is pretty loud, but again, I dont really care.

One thing I would like to mention is that the guttrwheel I made for my Gen-X4100 looked MUCH diferent than the one you trid on your eheim. I did find that there was a significant different between using three layers and 4 and how they were mounted to the impeller pallate. Did you notice any modifications to the 4100 volute or body? I'll try to drain my skimmer and gt a pic of the gutterwheel I made....

I love it, ER is going after the big guys from Germany. Finally, when looking at a skimmer, I might choose a ER over a Deltec or H&S because now they all have eheim pumps. Very nice.

Profit! :D H&S Eheim 1260 is $298 and the Deltec Eheim 1260 is $550 and it naturally reduces the number of skimmer DIYers! You would think that if you were a legal owner of any of their skimmers that they would consider selling a replacement Eheim pump cheaper if you traded in your damage or broken Eheim. :rolleye1:

Yeah, but why does the Eheim pump have to cost 305 dollars?

IMO, it's so DIY'ers don't put ALL the skimmer manufactures out of business.

In this country, we love to build our own stuff. If ER sold these things at a low cost, ER H&S and Deltec would ALL suffer in sales in the US and Canada.

Thats why all the companies charge an arm and a leg for their pumps.

That was the biggest knock on ER by not having the Eheim pumps. However, their acrylic work and pvc welding is excellent.

Wonder what the price will be for a new RC skimmer with the ehiem on it? If they could keep the current prices as of now, that would be very cool!

soo im looking to get a rs135 for my 90g will it come with this eheim pump..

i have one for a return and love it

still $305.00 each need 4 to replace my genx 4100`s maybe the price will drop when they see that there is a greater market for people that want to up grade. and for diyer`s

Baja- have you measured the air pull on your 4100's? Do they have the stock needlewheel in them? I'm getting about 3100LPH collectively from the 4 I have on my skimmer (very similar to yours) but have heard there is potential for more.....

In the past, ER has offered discounted rates on pumps and impellers for current ER product owners. I hope they make the decision to continue doing so.

impeller upgrade

impeller upgrade

If you purchase a new system, they will offer a 30 day grace period where you can get a free impeller upgrade. New impeller is supposed to be announced this week (says Euroreef) but no word posted on their site. No word on what pumps & models will get them, or when (though some are getting them direct with the new pumps from Euroreef)

after about 1 1/2 years on them 1 makes alot of noise and 1 leaks cleaned many times new o-rings. No never put a gage on them to see how much air they pull it has been a great skimmer. would like to up grade pumps soon. was wondering if the needle wheels would fit in a 1262? something i plan to look into
