Quick question for all the experts. I bought a ES 8-2 with the sedra 5000. I havent been able to get it to pull any skimate in a week. Ive followed euros advice and soaked pump in veniger solution and still no change., I just cant adjust the riser pipe enough to get the bubbles high in the tube. Im to the point of ordering a new pump but wanted to know if I should buy the sedra 9000 or would that cause a problem? its really not much more expensive so if it will be better Id rather get a bigger pump.
Whats yalls opinions or has anyone done this?thanks

I would get an OR 3700 instead... the old school sedras including the sedra 9000 with NW are exceedingly weak... All you really need to use the OR 3700 is just pop the sedra 5000 venturi onto the OR 3700 and get ready for a lot of bubbles.
For example, on my RC skimmer with OR 3700. That thing pulls about 15 SCFH with about 12" of head above the inlet. The sedra 9000 pulled 5 (Pitiful in my opinion).
Peace,
John H.
