Hey guys. I noticed the price for the CS250 was about $510 at marine depot. I called them and they said it was being discontinued, but then i called Euro-Reef and he said they werent making any changes to this model. For 500 bucks, could i get a better skimmer? And i asked earlier about the noise, but i imagine it's quieter than my current AquaC EV120, which throws a nice hum into the living room. Anybody doubt that?

I will definitely miss EuroReef on this thread. It is too bad that the mods decided to boot him.
Remember that you are innocent until proven guilty so it is probably not a great idea to blame someone for him being banned.
Banning definitely has its place. Most people in RC are great and respectful but it only takes a few trolls to drag a board down.
I hope the ER can still read this thread. My solution to this problem would be to re-open the Euro-Reef forum and then all of the great new announcements can be given there. I for one am disappointed with ER being gone since I am waiting with baited breath for the new impellers to be released. I gotta get me some of them

Oh well, i used to come here for the info i needed. What i don't understand is why doesn't Euroreef just open up their own forum on their own site. I mean what's the point of being censored and booted here. Just do your own thing! It will also be alot easier on us.

The only reason ER got booted is because buying - I mean paying sponsors cried. Both Deltec and H&S or Fins reef are paid sponsors. They do the exact same thing on the "club forums" with their name attached as ER did. This is basically a closed, or extremely filtered, "open forum". I don't know what is going on but the mods or whoever is in charge here needs to check themselves and level the paying field.
In my opinion if ER, Deltec, H&S, or any one else wants to help us reefers out by letting us know about how to fix or mod the products we have or letting us know of up copming products let it be. You guys are so short sighted that you don't realize we are probably making the purchase from a paying sponsor like premium aquatics or someone.
You (Mods) folded to the pressure of a few. Thank God the rest of the reef community is stronger. We will help eachother here or on other furoms regardless of how weak and prejudicial you have become. I have watched the running of this forum fall for years, left, then returned to be surprised how low the new crew (of mods) has gone. Yes some of us know about the legal issues that caused old mods to split.
I hope this post is not confused with the ones we have all read when two hobbyists get into it and one says "You didn't understand what I wrote! Your stupid. I am never coming back to RC. Oh and I am selling my computer!"
This is not a slam on the people who post here. I have learned a lot from you all and I hope I have been able to help others on occassion.
It is a slam on the way this forum is run. If you kick ER off you are negatively affecting hundreds if not thousands of reefers...Don't you get that? Isn't that what RC was supposed to be about?

In my opinion if ER, Deltec, H&S, or any one else wants to help us reefers out by letting us know about how to fix or mod the products we have or letting us know of up copming products let it be. I agree that this definetly hurts the reefing community. ER has done a lot in the past for this forum with sponsorship, and this hobby by fabricating quality equpment in the US of A.
I will also say, that Brian at finsreef has been nothing shy of a GREAT person to deal with, and also a great contributer to this hobby. I don't own any Deltec equipment, but I have spoken with Doug in the past, and he was very nice and also helpful. I don't have anything negative to say about either person.
If it was a sponsor who complained, then whats done is done. IMO, we cannot let this thread turn into a flame session on the RC mods/staff. If we do, we will all be dissapointed when this thread is closed and the ER users are then stuck with nothing!!!
All we can do is let our concerns be known, and hope the mods have a change of heart.

I talk to Doug at Deltec practically every day if not twice
I talk to Brian and Eric at Fins Reef once or twice a week...... heck I do not even sell one Euro reef product and have had two conversations this week with Jeff M at Euro Reef. All three you mentioned are paid sponsors. Do you have any proof that Deltec or H&S had any say so about someone not being able to post on a thread? Just curious if you do. You kind of hit the nail on the head....Open forums do have rules even here on RC. Paid sponsor forums are meant to promote products and help a consumer with all questions regarding a product that they sell. Euro reef has opened and closed there sponsor forum a few times in the past.... I would not hold the Mods accountable for doing there job to keep the public forums as un biased as they can

I don't know the guys over there and I am sure they are great guys. The product they make/sell is very good as said by many including ER. As far as proof. As I originally stated it is circumstantial. The point I was trying to make is the blame lies with RC not anyone (or company) trying to protect their interests, IF THEY DID.
I am sorry I do hold the mods accountable. This is an ER club forum. It is already biased there is no need for the mods to "just do there job". If a manufacturer was hijacking every thread with their product in the title I would want them shut down. There is a difference between the letter of a law the spirit of a law.
Here is a little food for thought.

IIRC, ER is (was) a RC sponsor. They even had their own forum. I don't know why but again IIRC, they opted to remain a sponsor and shut down their forum. I guess that was their fatal flaw - I've seen worst stuff posted within vendor forums and no one got banned, the thread was just closed. Not sure why ER chose to close their forum.
As far as skylar's post, why even come on and speculate? Thats a lot of speculation to write such a long post. I seriously doubt RC "caved" to anyone. I'm sure there was more behind the scenes and probably a warning issued.
As an equipment junkie I'm still pretty surprised at ER's post on page 12. I was really looking forward to trying out one of the new ER's.
