Euroreef Nano Skimmer FS (with pictures) and a new mesh wheel

Euroreef's latest invention- this skimmer was specifically designed for the Solana but can be clipped to any reservoir where the water level is constant.

It has a permanent mesh wheel that shreds air into tiny bubbles- excellent skimmate production, theoretically even better than the needlewheel skimmers.

I also just received a new mesh wheel in the mail with an improved material.

I'm selling it for $75- it's 2 months old.

Eddie-

We are about to have a baby and essentially it was a time thing- I broke down my Solana. I loved that tank- I had everything from an Oregon Blue Torte to striking zooanthids.

Actually, the skimmer was one of the most fascinating things about the tank- it almost looked like milk-froth in the body. SO many bubbles.

can the skimmer be adjusted up and down to get dryer or wetter foam? i want to use it in a 10gallon sump but i think it might be too tall and i can't lower it enough to get dryer skim.

Hi Adrian,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but dry skimmate would be achieved by raising it, not lowering it. There is a hole in the bottom of the body that could be made bigger so that the skimmer sits lower, or it could be slightly plugged to make the skimmer sit higher. In addition to this, there is an adjusment screw built in for standard lowering/raising.

It may be easier than you think. PM me if you are interested.

thanks Dave, yes u are right thats what i meant. :D how tall is the skimmer from the bottom to the lowest point on the adjusting screw. i wonder if it will fit in my 10gallon sump.

Adrian,

I think it's a bit more complicated than that- since the pump is side-mounted, it is essentially a question of how high you can have it and still have the pump submerged. Again, you can make adjustments on the size of the hole in the bottom of the body as well.

That measurement that you asked for will probably give you very little information. Is there any way you can come by and see it?

Do you still have the skimmer and if so what is the height of the body and how wide is it from the back of the pump to the other side of the tube. Also the diameter of the tube. Thanks Derek
