Very nice! I would jump on that if I saw it at my LFS. Not sure it's actually a "Epicystis Crucifer" rock anemone, but I would still be owning it if I had a chance.

he was actually found in shallow rock formations here in south florida,

Really!!!!! I've seen a ton of crucifers in the wild. Many different colors and patterns, but I don't remember ever seeing one with tentacles that long, and a solid color oral disk like that. They can vary greatly from one individule to another, so I do believe you. It definitely isn't your run of the mill crucifer though. Nice find.

funny thing is, when these guys are not open and expanded, you cannot see them, they blend in completely with the structure there on. Once i started looking i counted 42 of them in a small area so there are very prolific... Next time in in the area i will take some photos, there are zoa fields also, something i dont see alot of

Even though the anemone is found in the same geographic range of Epicystis crucifer, I don't think that anemone is E. crucifer. It's a nice looking anemone though.

If it's not crucifer, then someone has dropped another species into south Florida that doesn't belong there. Florida, and especially south Florida, is becoming a zoo, containing animals from all over the tropics. I think this find needs to be reported so that if it is a potentially invasive species, they may be able to stop it. The only problem is that, I believe, it's illegal to collect sessile invertebrates in Florida. Reporting it could potentially get the OP in trouble.

Are all the zoo's green? The green ones can cover large areas. Back in the day, before the term "zoo's" became popular, we just called them "green sea mats". I've never seen a color other than green though. If they are some other color, you may have found a spot where someone has dumped the contents of their reef tank.

these guys are spreading like wildfire in my tank <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/66353763@N03/6039733421/" title="DSC_5107 by clownymental, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6195/6039733421_3234cd4f23.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="DSC_5107"></a>

I found one like it once a couple years ago. It had bright orange tentacles. I found it in about 3 feet of water mixed in with some "regular" rock anemones
