Exodin by Aqua Medic

I recently had a massive infestation of Cryptocaryn (Marine Ich) in my Reef Aquarium after stocking too fast and not maintaining the correct QT procedures for new livestock additions. It was suggested that I use Exodin by Aqua Medic since it is suppossedly Reef Safe. Needless to say I'm highly dissapointed in the product. It did not harm my Inverts or SPS Corals but I no longer have any fish in my aquarium except for one which is now blind and has cloudy eyes from using this product. I'm curious to know if anyone has had any similar situations with this product.

I don't know about that stuff, but as far as I know there are no proven reef safe products on the market. Hypo and copper are the only known proven ways. There are lots of claims and "This method worked for me" stuff out there, but none proven to work.

Largeangels, well I can definitely say that this medication did the job of irradicating my infestation of Cryptocaryn "Marine Ich" by killing of all of my fish. Although I am happy to say that my SPS Corals, Clams, Shrimps, Crabs and Snails are happily going about their lives.

Wow... the LFS store that pushes this stuff here in NJ should be made aware of this thread. IF you think about it it makes for a great business model to sell customers meds that will wipe out the icy and the fish if you are a local FS. Keep them coming back for more.........


Unbelievable...I was given the same advice... this stuff is great...kills icy....

They forget to mention that it kills fish too. never heard of the active ingredient.. also fellow reefers take note... the kid in the store handed me a bottle.. always check expiration dates... the product he tried to sell me was outdated...

Since I never heard of it.. I left it on the shelf.
