eye-catching reef fish

For example, for "regular" people there's almost no difference between a purple firefish and Helfrich's firefish, but a reefer is likely to see the latter as a flagship fish.

I dunno, theres an awful lot of us reefers who see it as no more than a waste of $$.

Well after adding a Tunze 6060 to the tank today, Any fish under 2'' are going to get blown away. The little chromis I have in qt would just be blown around like nothing.

They'll get used to it. I've got way mroe flow in a way smaller tnak, and the little guys are fine.

Rich is right but I don't have any Tunzes - maybe you should give me yours and keep the chromis ;)

Get a bicolor blenny. Very attractive and funny. I also seconed the black and white occelarris clown. I have one and she is very pretty and has a nice personality.

Maybe. A purple firefish is a nice fish for a reef. But I feel that a nice Helfrich's firefish is a flagship fish for a small reef.

Here's what I'm thinking about:

1- Blue throat trigger ( 2-3'' )
1- Regal tang ( 2'' )

2- Male True Percula clown and female tomato clownfish. ( already together in qt )

3- female lyretails
1- Male lyretail

4- Green chromis ( in qt )

1- Royal gramma ( in qt )

How does that sound?

i have heard a few people say their bcb nipped at sps, montipora in particular. they had acros growing but no pe on montipora. so if you want sps, i would stay away from the bi color blenny

I was always surprised at what non-reef people liked about my tanks. Next to the common clowns living in my LTA, my Six Line Wrasse used to get the most attention. People liked the way he would constantly patrol every nook and cranny looking for pods. Mandarin Gobies also attract the attention of non-reef people (but I don't recommend them).

I know a lot of people do this, but the thought of having a fish in my tank that could suddenly decide to start taking lethal chunks out of the others doesn't do much for me - :)

Here's my clowns. :)

cool.. is that in Ot?

Yes. The fish aren't in hypo yet and the rock is just there to hold down the starboard until I get some more pvc pipe.

Here's a couple of off the wall choices.

How about a pink tail trigger? You don't see them very often. They are reef safe and are constantly moving around in the tank. Mine is awsome. They will however out grow your 75.

Or what about a junvile red corris wrasse? Again very bright colors and once they turn to adult colors, they are even more stunning. Some say they are not reef safe but I've had no problems with mine in my reef's and I have a little of everything growing in there coral wise. They too may out grow your 75 though. But you could enjoy them for awhile.

Or go with a harem of either royal grammas, six line wrasses or sun burst anthias..

i would go with the red coris wrasse
i have wanted one of those for a while
great fish
lots of personality, beautiful, and active
and they look even more spectacular when adults

this is a juvenile

and most reefers say they are not reef safe
but idk i have never had one so i couldnt tell you
