Fairy wrasse ID

I'll try to get another pic, but the tail is not crescent like my crescent tail wrasse but it's not pointed (yet?) either...I might run up to Greenwich tomorrow to see what their's looks like

The tail lanceolates wth age and maturity. Since the fish you posted was definitely a juvie the tail wouldnt be very pointed yet.

Correct, but a lunatus variant would already be a mini-crescent.

So that pretty much confirms it.

OP, if you're passing on this guy, please get me in touch with the seller. :)

ah, next time albano. will be off to California this weekend.

Ok... Hope you'll be around in November for Manhattan Reefs frag swap!

Anyway, went to GA and they had sold the wrasse before I got there ...of course they said they're trying to get some more in!
Stopped by HoF and they had just stocked up their tanks for the big weekend... But I didn't see anything 'special'

Sorry about GA not having their pintail in. I sent a friend over there to pick it up for his tank yesterday morning.
I figured if i cant afford to get it at least in my frienfs tank i would be able to see it.

Not a problem... But if he can post some pics for comparison! Like to see if it's the same as mine

Hopefully I did this right.

Here is the pic of the one that was at GA.

Went to 'Splash' event at House of Fins in Greenwich, yesterday... met Koji and Tony Vargas...showed him my pics and he confirmed cf. Lanceolatus... I believe he said that last one he saw went for over $2000!... He felt that I had won lotto!

The last lanceolatus I saw went for 2200, the last cf lanceolatus went for 250. I was curious as to where the fish came from. A new fairy wrasse has popped up and looks almost the part of your new addition. Have any of you seen or heard of a Cirrhilabrus Squierei? I have some feelers out now for this fish, but I think it will be over the 2 grand mark and that's if one is avaliable.

Well, today I saw 4 more cf Lancelotus available... Of course I grabbed another...not sure if 'evolved' found one yet, but if he passes I'll let everyone know who to call!
