I have read so much about the fairy wrasses jumping out of tanks but I would like to know how high can they jump out of the water?
How tall should a fully enclosed canopy be to keep them inside?

Very high! My open-top tank was fully enclosed but I can tell you from the sound they made when they hit the bottom of the light fixture or the bottom of the eggcrate, both of which were 11" above the water, that they are olympic jumpers.
>maybe they are adornatus? do those come from that area?
C. lubbocki and C. flavidorsalis overlap in most range (Palau, Philippines, Indonesia and eastern Malaysia), and the former was also recorded from southern Japan. C. adornatus is restricted to the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia where lubbocki or flavidorsalis do not occur.
I picked up this wrasse the other day and it was listed as a blue-scaled fairy wrasse. I am not totally sure..
I am thinking it is either a female blue sided fairy wrasse or a female solor wrasse. I am hoping its the later to go with my male solor. I have included picks of both, any opinion is appreciated..
i got a pair of lineatus coming in friday..can't wait i got a pretty good deal on them this is the first time to keep these so i hope all goes well..i will be sure to post pics when he is in
i don't know yet...my lfs said the ones he got last week were of nice size and are still doing real good...i want to say 3 to 4 inches and the males had were nice color..i have always wanted one just never had got it so i hope that they do good....i think i am going to put them in the my 90 since i do not have any fairys in that tank now..i will post some pics later tomorrow
well i got my lineatus today and he is big...and lots of color...this pic just does not do it justice...he has displayed quite a bit already at the capenters saying hey this may have been your tank but it will be mine now...he is in a specimen cup now and i plan to let him out tonite...can't wait to see him swiming around
the color hen takes on when he displays is so cool...gets a real grenn color to him...i would say he is a good 4" if not a little larger than that.my lfs said that this one came in alot better than the one last week more color and he was eating as soon as he came out the bag at the store...i think i really lucked out on that guy...a real good find for sure
here is a new pic of this guy right after feeding...this fairy eats more than any other one i have...he just runs the chromis off and eats as much as he can..goes after anything in the water that looks like food...i am very happy about this fish and plan to get one more for the tank.
