Do you have all those wrasses in the 55 gallon? If so, I would like to get another wrasse for my 40 gallon reef, I have a solar wrasse now but would love another wrasse.

The laboutei and scotts are in my 120 gallon. I use to have them all together, no problems at all. Solar wrasses are cool. I use to have a 5 inch male about 2 years ago with a female. They were so cool til they went carpet surfing on me :(

DeltecRules: That looks exactly like my pyle's wrasse. My pink margin looked like that when I got it, but the color hasn't stayed.

I am heading to my LFS in a few minutes to pick up a girl for my red margin, I don't want to see him loose any color. So far his color is still the same when I bought him. I love my pylei, he feeds from my hand only after two days in my tank. He is adapting nicely.

Can fairy wrasses and flasher wrasses be housed together?

We have a Blue sided Fairy, Clown Fairy and a Lubbock's Fairy wrasse in our main tank (100 gallon) and we have a McCosker's in quarantine right now.
Will it be safe to house them together?
Thanks-

Julie

am I crazy?

am I crazy?

Ok Guys

You might think I am crazy.. but I am getting these fish delivered today:

1) Linneatus
2) Solarensis
3) Scotts
4) Labouti

I already have a Cirrhilabrus luteovittatus... he and the other fish are disease free now... I know I should quarantine the fish, but I dont have a q tank ready....keep my fingers crossed....

If the luteovittatus goes attacking these guys again, I am catching him and keeping him locked up in jail until he calms down.. or I might just get rid of him if someone wants to buy him off me.

Will post pics when i get the fish around 1pm today.

haha..

haha..

Easy there Matt....1pm West coast time was when I got them.. they are in the tank....

The scotts wrasse looked amazing.. the linneatus, i could not tell, he is hiding... the Labouti kicked my luteovittatus' @ss... kicked him right out of his house... funny to watch.. and the Labouti is smaller than my luteo... the solarensis looked ok, he was checking out the food I was feeding my other fish so they leave my wrasses alone.

I left the lights off, so cant take pics yet... when I get back home in an hour or so, I will turn the t5s on and see if i can get some pics. Hopefully I can get them to start feeding fairly soon.

Yikes...kind of scary spending $400 on fish in one day... lets just hope it is 1 good day...;) Come on fish gods, make these puppies survive...

Good thing was, they came from pacific palisades via car transport, so they were not in their bags for more than 3hrs. The Linneatus was HUGE... maybe 4inches....hope he finds the tank big enough...

wrasse updates..

wrasse updates..

Ok well... here is update....

Labouti....he is staying up near the surface... couple of times he's tried to test the surface and jump, but never has gotten any air. Doesnt appear to be breathing heavy, but definitely is not used to the tank just yet.

Scotts wrasse... he came out when i turned the t5s on and started swimming around, and actually ate a few mysis.

Solarensis, I saw him briefly but he went back to hiding.

Linneatus... havent seen him....yet.

My lights usually come on at 12pm, but I only put the t5s on from 6pm til 11pm, so the other two guys might have just been sound asleep.

What do you guys think, should I put some feeder shrimp in tomorrow to get them to feed? Seemed to work on my luteo.

Speaking of which, he hasnt beaten up the others too bad.. he takes a swipe at the labouti now and then, but nothing too bad.

Pics to come...updates too.

The mysis should be fine as a starter food. I have a Scott's, Male and Female Peacock, Labout's and Pink Margin and all ate mysis immediately. The Pink Margin did hide for a week before staying in view regularly.

Has anyone actually had to resort to live foods to get these guys eating?

live shrimp

live shrimp

Actually, I meant live feeder shrimp... they are bigger than mysis....when I got my luteo, he wouldnt eat... so I got some live feeder shrimp (which many say are really good for the fairy wrasses) and he destroyed those things...he wouldnt eat with me watching, so I would leave the room, come back, and see shrimp tails or shrimp heads left...and I knew he was eating ;)

This morning, all fish were asleep as expected..will see what they look like when I am back home tonight...hoping I can catch a glimpse of the solar and the linneatus soon, especially the linneatus, considering it was my most expensive acquisition.
