False Perc Developed Black Spots!

My juvenile clown quickly developed a single black patch on both side of its body this week.

Please help me ID/asses if this is anything to worry about.

Mine both did the same thing when they were younger. Seemed to be a stage, most of the black spots have faded away now that they are older. I wouldnt worry if there arent any other symptoms.

Do you have any zoos in your tank? The black spots are usually from the zoos that the fish brush against.

I do have quite a few zoos, the clown stays far away from almost everything. The spots are also almost symmetrical on both of its sides. do you know more about this zoo brushing effect?


Strangely, my cleaner has a black spot also since his last molt I believe - it's not his organs, and is only on one side..... I think that is separate from the clown though.


maybe i'm feeding them too many lead flakes...
