Favia Show Off Thread

OMG!!! Every pic for the last 3-4 days absolutely ROCK!
Thanks for showing our fellow reefers the beauty & potential of our colored rocks, which equals that of colored sticks! LOL
Seriously, thanks for all the eye candy. This explains without words why Favid corals are my obsession.
Any questions?

Matthew

I used to be big in to favia and had some nice ones like this colony. You can see they yellow/orange centers.

Also had one like the Diversity Favia (alternating pink, red centers) and the Tyree Wormhole. I'll see if I can dig up some more pictures.

Beautiful stuff everyone!! Sadly, I lost 95% of my corals this past year and my interest faded. I'm currently working on setting up 2 new tanks and I thought I'd post a few pics to remember the lost soldiers...

Thanks for looking.

nUgZ: I feel your pain. I've lost most of my hard corals over the last 6-8 weeks. And last night, unkown to me, my heater malfunctioned. Waiting for the water to clear a little ( & to do beau coup water changes!!) & see what can be salvaged. Going to have to start a new cycle in the tank as well.
Anyway, I'll rebuild my hard coral collection. Still, almost 4.5 years, now this. Sigh.. This hobby can kick you in the gonads & laugh at your pain. For sure...

Yeah it can be tough sometimes. I hope you're able to salvage some stuff. A total loss is hard to stomach.

But it does leave lots of room for new additions in LPS.
Taking the most positive view, while the new cycle commences.

nugz i have something very similar that i would gladly frag for you... ill post a pic soon

A note of slight intrest: My sole surviving hard coral is a Favia.
I'm begining to think my C. argi had gone Sith on me. Favia seem very hardy before in my tank, & surviving a tank crash proves it.
Another point in their favor!
