It's the Mantis' World Famous Fish Food demo!

For the February meeting our very own Brad "Mantis" will share his special recipe for his home made fish food. Those who have made it before know, your fish and corals will respond like never before. I had a scarlet cleaner shrimp that always hung out in the back, never seen the guy, but when this food hit the water he was eating from my hands. It really is that good.

The food made at the meeting will then be distributed to members who wants to buy a sample for a few dollars, mainly to cover the cost of the ingredients.

The meeting will be @ the Quarry Clubhouse again.
2101 Quarry Valley Road Columbus, OH 43203

So come on out Saturday February 27th @ 2:00 and stink up the clubhouse, because believe me, you wouldn't want to do this at home :)

See you all there!

how big is the sample? Is it possible to have people prepay as we did with the frag racks so Brad can gauge the right amount of food? Just curious how this works as I didn't make it last year.

Josh

The samples are roughly a 4 x 6 bag, 1/4" thick, if I remember right. We aren't taking pre-pay, as we want to ensure all who attend get at least one sample, if they want it. It is usually a large turnout. We make plenty of food. There are always a few extras that get scarfed up. This should be another great meeting. See everyone there.

As an added bonus for all our NEW CORA members, we will be raffling off an aussie duncanopsammia frag next weekend at the food meeting. You must be a paid member, attend the meeting, and just joined in 2010. If you are not a member yet, you can still get in on this. Just make sure your membership is paid before midnight next Wednesday, and you will be eligible. Again, this is for our NEW 2010 members only. Just a WELCOME from the rest of us. Dont worry, we will have more raffles coming that ALL paid members will be eligible for. :)

I just made a bunch tonight my triggers are loving it along with all the others My mantis shrimp aI hadnt seen since the second day I put him in even came out for some squid tail shrimp and other goodies.

id be interested in a bag but not sure i can make the meeting. i always miss the fun stuff
:(

We'll see if there are any left, but the last couple times we made it all the packets went out the door. A link to the recipe is on the CORA site, in the meeting thread, if you can't make it and want to try a whole batch yourself.

Only a few days away. Sounds like allot of members planning to attend. See everyone there.

Save me some I plan on attending

Good to see you will be there Mark. Hope your foot is doing better.

For the folks who have never feed their tank with this stuff. Its like nothing you have ever seen before if you use to feeding off the shelf stuff. It becomes a feeding frenzy. The fish go nuts.

i was looking at the recipe and my only fear is you said it STINKS!!! lol no if i cant get some ill make it id be willing to pass my number to someone or prepay them for a bag if needed.
corey
i am still working on trying to attend as ive never really had the honor of meeting most of you :)

I do not think it stinks the room up and I am very sensitive to smells. But I do believe if you handle it during bagging your fingers will stink. I helped Joe bag last year and even after washing my hands I could smell it while eating dinner.

The meeting was on a Sunday night at like 7 so I had dinner in the car for after the meeting.

I will not be able to make this one you guys have fun stinking the place up

We can leave you a small bag in your truck overnight after we are done so the next day you can feel like you were there. ;) Just let us know. :D

Stick it under the front seat so once it starts to warm up around here the aroma will be just right.

hehe

Add a touch of skimmate to the cocktail for good measure and you'll have every cat in the area climbing on the truck to get in. :eek2:

Thanks everyone for making it out. Another great meeting. Thanks to Brad for time spent on getting this together and presented.

Congrats to lil-bit, winner of the Duncan frag.
