What does the lighting talk cover?


Like is it pretty much an advertisement for a specific lighting system, or does it talk about the pros and cons of different configurations etc.
 
I don't think he sells lighting, his site has just tons of different info on what bulbs do what spectrum, SE vs DE, etc...

As far as I know he does not push a product.
 
No, dont think so either he is just the lighting Guri.

When it come to lighting he is definetly t he best info around and has tested hundred of bulbs/ballast
 
Let me put this simply.......I will be at this meeting and have been looking forward to it.
 
Hey All

Dr. Sanjay Joshi is an engineering sciences teacher Penn State. He'll be talking about the spectral (color) and par (energy) output of the differrent lighting systems.

In other words, when it comes to aquarium lighting, he's he man!
 
man... y does it have to be on a day that i can't be there.. i might have to change my plans just to attend now
 
THIS IS THE BIGGEST SPEAKER WE HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME!!!
I am very excited to hear him talk and think that the members of the club as a whole will gain a great deal of knowledge from this speaker.

As a side note, the raffle is going to be loaded with not just dry goods and equipment (1/3 H.P chiller), but with lots of beautiful livestock as well. All in all this should be a great night to be a MARS member :eek1: :eek2: :eek1:

Well Folks, I am sad to say I will be missing this one. This is one that I really want to attend, but a planned trip to Sea Ranch for a Valentines getaway trumps it. So if I can convince RasBobre to do the podcast, and if Aaron could tape this, that would be great!

Most reefers call a bunch of raw seafood chopped up in a food processor Sanjay mix. This is that Sanjay. He published a recipe about ten years ago.

V1 of the MARS calcium reactor was based on the design Dr. Joshi published about ten years ago.
 
I know this is a presentation I have been waiting excitedly for. Will he permit us to videotape his presentation?

There are less than a dozen household names in reefing and Dr. Joshi, AKA Sanjay is one...!!!
 
We will let Dr. Yoshi decide what delivery style best fits his presentation and the time alloted.

OoOoo... did we mention the 1/3 HP chiller up for raffle - yes, easily an $800 unit grand prize! I run this brand of chillers exclusively on all my systems and I can tell you, I have had great success. We also have some nifty live prizes that Paul has been storing in my QT systems that will be raffled as well. :D

This will be a great one peeps - ya'll would do well to not miss it! All are welcome to attend MARS meetings and enjoy in the festivities and geekdom. And if you are so inclined, we highly encourage you to join up at the meeting to show your support!
