FedEx stinks!!!!

This really sucks. Sorry man. I got a LA delivery this morning on time from UPS - mine goes through oak->sunnyvale too, thankfully it got through.

Yeah, the part of the order that came from Los Angeles was here on time too.
Just the cherry picked fish from DD got lost on the way.
The real irony is that the tracking page still claims it is "In Transit: On Time" :debi:

I put a order last tuesday, for wed delivery. It was shipped from CA to the east coast, but Fedex had it sitting in the midwest all day on wed. Sure enough, no delivery on Wed. And Th was Turkey day, so no deliveries. Rather than have it sitting all day on a truck on Friday, I changed the delivery to pick it up at the Fedex location by the airport. Luckily the fish was okay.

Never had a problem with UPS but FedEx has delivered my live fish packages to the ABANDONED TRAILER all the way down the street three times so far!

Sorry you are having such a bad experience with shipping :(

I've got my 3 fish I ordered from LA coming in today before noon. I'm watching the tracking closely. Fortunately the UPS driver has been to my house several times and Hopefully there won't be any problems. They were supposed to ship on Monday for a Tuesday delivery but didn't ship due to the winter storm we had Monday and Tuesday. Can't wait to get my new fish, this is the first time I've ever ordered fish online. Biting my fingernails, they're all gone LOL

Fish ordered:
Midas Blenny
Royal Gramma
McCosker's Wrasse

Edit:
Update on shipping:
Left LA 7:33 pm
Arrived in Louisville, KY 2:09 am
Left Louisville, KY 4:44 am
Arrived in Omaha, NE 5:22 am
Omaha is destination 5:26 am

I'm 2 hour m/l from Omaha. I'm guessing they go to furthest point and then work back from there. I'm guessing delivery will be by 10 am. I hope so anyway

Well they came at 11:30 so were on time. However so far only opened up the Royal Gramma a tiny thing half starved and barely alive. I doubt he makes it. :( Now next will be the McCoskers Wrasse can't see in the bag yet because it's a blacked out one. I'll know shortly

The package still wasn't delivered when I had to leave for work, and even now, well after 10:30 it hasn't been delivered according to the tracking page ... :headwally:

UPS finally delivered it at 12:12 - but to the wrong address :debi:
Luckily the neighbor where the UPS driver dropped it off brought it over.

DD packs their fish pretty good, but nevertheless the temperature had dropped to 18°C.

Not trying to brag but I rarely if ever have issues with either carrier. If I had repeat incidents like you on relatively high profile packages I'd start thinking the driver had it out for me. I'd definitely contact some offices and start complaining about their drivers being too inept for the job.

I had a SWF order shipped Tuesday from an LA shipping facility to VA and it arrived via Fedex at 10:30am Wednesday. The driver was interested in what I had ordered and got to talking about his tanks. So far the only delayed order has been from Reef Cleaners and that was shipped usps.

Damm it, now it is my turn. Delivery scheduled for noon today(Sat), just got notice it is delayed until next business day(Monday).

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully things work out. Fish and crabs usually can handle being in the bag for a weekend if packed well. Anemones may not be so tolerant.

Today I got my Blue Zoo shipment in on time - sometimes FedEx and UPS get it right, but way too often not.

The worst part is the boxes were "out for delivery" and if they made it to your house in Fremont, then the driver got pretty close to my house. Worst of all even after spending the past 45 minutes on the phone there is no way I can go get it.

Glad you got your fish this time though.

Good luck with getting your fish in, I'm SO happy that I can receive shipments Mon-Thurs. One of few perks working weekends... Saturday shipments sound like a nightmare.

Something is definitely wrong with FedEx and UPS around here.
And if it was out for delivery (= on the truck) I don't get why they would take it back to the San Jose hub instead of delivering it.

What do you have in the box?

This might just be me but this is a very bad time of the year to have live goods shipped, on the east coast, cold weather and all shippers are swamped. I ordered some dry goods, all shipped the same day from the same place received one box Friday and other says expect Monday delivery. Both were to arrive Thursday!

:thumbdown :thumbdown :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :headwalls:

It's not enough that half the time their delivery drivers are incapable to read the addresses right and drop things off at the wrong address, but now they decided that delivering a priority overnight express package will be soon enough to arrive by Monday instead of Saturday.

I ordered 2 Starcki damsels, 2 female Blue Stripe Pipefish and some corals from Blue Zoo and selected Saturday delivery, since that's the only day I can take care of the package as soon as it arrives.

I suspect by Monday morning all the fish and corals will either have suffocated or be frozen to death. :sad2:

I had the same thing happen from Blue Zoo a few years back. Im surprised they havent changed carriers.

If it had happened only now I would agree, but this sh.. happens here year round.

Well, which would be the alternatives?
It's really just between FedEx and UPS and that's like choosing between Lucifer or Beelzebub...

USPS doesn't ship live animals if I remember correctly.

Sucks dont it? All we have is two carriers to choose from but we can get 100 different boxes of cereal. Its a joke.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. The same thing happened to me, I lost over $40 in fish because not that was FedEx late, but delivered it to the wrong apartment. I was the EASIEST apartment to find, wrote special instructions to help, and the guy like went behind the building and placed it in front of a door that I don't even know there was an apartment back there. Its like he went out of his way to hide the package. I found my package 12 hours later hovering around 40F.

I order more stuff online than not and I've lived in CA, HI, WA, and NJ. No matter the state Fedex ****s up every delivery. I don't really have any problems from UPS, but FedEx is horrible. Often the driver doesn't even attempt to look for an address, before they head out they plug the address into their GPS if it doesn't come up they don't even bother and just bring it back to the facility. I know this because one admitted it to me after I questioned him why my house was so hard to find for him. I can only imagine how many lives die at the hands of FedEx and UPS every year... :'(
