Feeding oranges for vitamin C

My fiance mentioned the other day that I should put half an orange in the tank to get some vitamin C to the fish. She had a koi pond and always fed them oranges. I was wondering if anyone has tried this, or thinks it may be beneficial.

Koi ponds and reef tanks are two very different things. A lot of other thing come with an orange. Why do you think the fish are lacking vitamin C?

Vitamin C has been proven to do wonders if you have Zoas/polyps. It stops them from melting. It is also a type of carbon dosing, some people use it to dose and bring nitrates down to Zero. I haven't read anything about throwing orange fruit in the tank though. They sell Vit. C solutions for the tank.

Like anything in this hobby it works for some and won't for others. I personally didn't see a difference using vit c.
