Female perc biting Mag's mouth?

I've had a large purple base magnifica since last summer. My pair of onyx misbars have lived with it for several months. Within the last week, the female has started biting at the mouth of the mag, and the male seems to be nipping at its foot. This pair of clowns hasn't spawned yet, so might this their pre-spawning activity?
