Filter Socks

Hey everyone, in talking with a fellow reefer this evening I have a question regarding filter socks. If you use them, how often do you change them out? I do it weekly with water changes, but after a quick bit of reading I might be waiting too long.

Every three days at minimum. Shorter if they clog. That's me though I tinker in my basement sump nearly every day so I'm checking it nearly every day

I have about 1/2 of my drain water from display go thru socks (1000 GPH) - so I have to change them about every 5 days. It will also depend on the Micron filtering of the sock - 100 micron will need to be changed faster than a 200 micron sock .

both my drains go into socks and i have to switch mine every week... annoying yes, but i swear by them
