He did not make it.

I tried what I could and followed tips provided by others, but he was never happy.

He was deflated for 22 hours a day lately, and when he opened, mouth was gaping. His foot looked progressively worse, and he would not eat no matter what I offered.

Sorry for your loss. With anemones it is all about getting a healthy animal. There was nothing you could have done.

LFS told once they force fed one once..... I would not advise that though.

You may do that if you think it is the last chance for it to eat.

Eating is the least of worries for a nem. They can survive very long periods of time without eating .

Never ever ever force feed an anemone no matter what. All you would do is stress it more. If it needs/wants food it will eat. If its dying it will not and feeding it won't help.

Exactly. And to add to that... There is a chance that the food could start to decompose ( within the anemone ) which would make a bad situation even worse.

I would never force feed an anem. Yes being inexperienced I tried it but my experience tell me what you stuff in there will just come back up. Further irritating an already struggling animal.

Sorry for your loss, its not an uncommon story. Even though the survival rate has crept up in the last influx of these animals. they still hover at the maybe 20% survival rate.

On this board which is the largest in the nation we have maybe a dozen or so success stories?
