FINALLY... my anemone tank has an anemone..

it's taken a while but i finally got a RBTA that i really like the color of, no bubbles but the color is great, green base and deep rose tentacles... :)

the tank started out as a goby tank over a year ago. then in August '09 i decided i wanted to make it a BTA tank with a special pair of clowns.. i fell in love with the Platinum clowns but didn't want a pair of them.. i wanted some contrast, so i decided after she got some size to her i would add a small black misbar to be her mate... i'm still looking for that special "man" for her, hopefully in the next few months he will appear...

until then she resides in the tank along with a possum wrasse, yasa goby and his 2 candy stripped pistol shrimp, a pair of sexy shrimp and a pair of porcelin crabs...

the tank is about 25g with a 10g sump, water return through a mag5 pump, i'm trying to avoid putting a power head in the tank, i've heard too many horror stories about nems and ph's.... lighting is a 4 bulb T-5 Nova Extreme fixture.

so far so good, although the clown hasn't taken to the nem yet the crabs and shrimp have.. :) the clown is still partial to her hairy mushroom colony. i'm ok with that. i feel like the nem needs a bit of time to acclimate to it all anyway without having a fiesty clown harrasing it..

here are a few pics::::

Very nice clown I am jealous and it will be interesting to see what you end up putting with her. And very nice RTBA, nice color and looks very healthy. Again nice clown.:fish1:

I would not be surprised if that clown never hosts that anemone. Both are nice BTW....
If you wind up having trouble getting it to host you can add a tiny clarkii to the tank temporarily so the perc recognizes it as a host and evicts the clarkii so she can have it for herself. Then you simply remove the clarkii and relocate it to another tank. I've done this. It's worked flawlessly.

WDLV, why do you doubt the clown will go to the anemone?? is it because she already hosts in the hairy mushrooms??

Sorry. I made a mistake. My percs never had trouble. It was the ocellaris that didn't like the E. quads.

well, since i'm going to have one of each..... i guess it will be a toss up... so far, the sexy shrimp and the anemone crabs are very interested in it, with the crabs winning out so far.. :)

i do hope that they, both clowns, will host it, but if not i still love having it in my tank... :)

Good looking rbta,and clown.

thanks David!!!! the BTA was a split off of an original aseveral months ago... it's been at the store with no interest so i decided to take it home... i am totally pleased with it even if the clowns don't pay it any attention....

as i mentioned above, the shrimp and crabs are totally interested... :) i am just very happy to have it in my tank....

you know what they say.... "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink".... the same kinda goes for clowns and anemones.... ;)
