Overdue UPDATE!

Well the system has been up and running for almost 2 months now. EveryONE and everything seem to still be acclimating nicely, although obvious this is in its infant stage.

We went with an 1 1/2" drain and a 1" bulkhead return that's reduced to 3/4" driven by a Mag 24. From the return pump going up is a manifold with 3 ball valves that are there for future needs. Currently I have one of the valves open to bleed off some of the flow.

The drain comes down into the filter sock and next into a Tunze 9440 Master Doc Skimmer then into the return side.

Lighting consists of 2x EcoTech Radions. I really love the wide range of settings these offer. I'd like to get a Par Meter to assist with coral placement.

There is one powerhead in the DT and that is an MP40. Between that and the split returns, we get pretty good flow throughout the tank...remember it's only 4'. The MP40 is located about 8" off the bottom and because of this placement I get a decent vertical gyre.

Livestock is plentiful:
2x Premnas biaculeatus
Zebrasoma flavescens
Zebrasoma desjardini
Ctenochaetus strigosus
7x Chromis viridis
Salarias ramosus
Neocirrhitus armatus
Nemateleotris magnifica

Numerous species of anemonies
Combination of softies and LPS and attemting some SPS.

Justin,
You have a very similar setup as my 110 (4 foot tank) with 2 Radions and one MP40. Interesting placement of your MP40. I had never considered putting it on the back, I might explore that. Can we get a full tank shot?

I have a par meter you can borrow if you find yourself in the Fairport area. I am not sure how effective it is with LEDs, but you are welcomed to play around with it.

Ha! Thx folks! No REALLY...thanks to many of you, like Cully for GIVING me a bunch of nice interesting branch rock...some of which I've given to others here...and ABC Fairport I feel I should identify for the overall equipment design and installation.

Most of the livestock was either traded amongst everyone here or purchased from an LFS.

I find it fascinating and down right stressful during these early stages with all that's in there...fish and corals alike. Fine-tuning coral placement with a new LED product is a beast in itself. Now add 15 fish that all had some degree of qt.

The rock that has 3 nems on it is dirty....red cyano seeps from its insides . There are two other pieces that are like that too...my point is cyano is spreading and I'm going to do a cpl things about it.

First is I switched from Oceanic to Reef Crystals and now is a good time to start playing around with dosing. My alk/ph is quite low and I want to start a 2-part regime.

I also have all the equip. to add a refugium to the system.

Blah blah blah, so much to do and things to tweak but I enjoy it!
