Finally

Happy New Year !!

2006 went out with a KICK !

Thanks to RC for re-opening our section !

SO i go away for 3 days and this happens!!! So is the group split up? Half still on RC the other half on the new forum? Both?

The club is still the club, no split, we just set up a new forum. Feel free to post here as well.

Yea i knew the club didn't split i was just wondering how long things were going to be split between the two forums... kind of counterproductive if you ask me.

I'd have to say the days of CDMAS members using RC as our main forum will dwindle with time. It would seem that most have an ill taste from the happenings of 12/30/06

That's just my general consensus & opinion on the matter.

I have an Ill taste in my mouth as well, but I still thank RC for re-opening the forum, there is no need for us ALL to suffer for a couple of people having problems here...

I know a lot of folks feel this way, but we've run into similar situations occasionally in the past that turned very, very ugly. The forum was closed to allow a "cooling off period" (for everyone, mods included). Experience has taught us that these things snowball, and we end up banning a whole bunch of folks because they couldn't resist the temptation to "chime in" with something totally inappropriate.

So, we closed the forum to keep the good people from being casualties in an otherwise isolated event. I personally apologize if this annoyed/offended the majority of the club, but I stand behind the decision to close the club rather than ending up with an additional 5-10 members banned (and even this was not a perfect answer - we still had to remove another member for inappropriate posting after the forum was re-opened. :( )

What is comes down to is, RC perferes NOT to split a club by ending up with a large minority (or heaven forbid, a majority) of the club's members unable to post on their club's forum due to the loss of privileges. We took the pre-emptive action of temporarily closing the club (it was closed for less than 48 hours) to allow tempers to cool. It probably won't happen to this club again (it's only happened very occasionally in the past, and never to the same club twice), but when faced with an escalating situation, sometimes a forced "cool down" is necessary (in our view).

Again, sorry for the disruption, and good luck with all of your club endeavors (even the other website).
