Well I have started back into the saltwater world. It has been 10 years since my last tank. I ordered a 96x32x25 acrylic tank and I am in the middle of building the stand. The tank is 3/4 everywhere except the bottom. I plan on doing a mixed reef. So far this is what I have ordered.

Apex controller
1 Vectra V-1
3 Kessil ap700
2 lifeguard QL-40watt UV
Bulk Reef supply RO/DI universal plus
custom glass 112 gallon glass sump with wet/dry
custom dynamics protein skimmer "euroreef"
neptune DOS dosing pump
2 Gyre xf150 going to mount in middle of tank on euro bracing facing away from each other not sure how that is going to work.
Lots of other small items float switches plumbing parts.

I plan to build custom brackets for the AP700's just not sure how I want to do it yet. I pick the tank up in 3 weeks.

Brs has RODI 150 gpd on sale for 230 that is a great deal.

Any local reef guys close to Novi Michigan would love to see some ideas and tanks in person to help with my build:)

Nice lists of equipments, but I will go with the Vectra L-1 instead of V-1 if I was you. You can always turn it down if it's too much flows, or you can T it out for UV light or carbon/phosphate RXs

Finished my stand and dropped it off for powdercoat I pick the tank up dec. 5th. Cant wait to get things running. Hope to paint the wood floor thats goes under the stand for the sump tomorrow. I ran the plumbing for the water change system today. Hope to also work on a seperate breaker for thetank also.

Wet/dry? On a mixed reef! Ummm?
It's possible. Def not advisable.
I'll let others give you the lowdown.
Study study study......

Wet/dries went out on reef tanks about 1994-5. They produce large amounts of nitrates that then have to be dealt with. I have heard of the odd person now and then who still runs one, but their systems are old and not very productive.

Where did you see mention of a wet/dry, anyways? It must have been in a very out-of date reef reference.

A wet/dry trickle filter will work with a fish only tank with messy or high bio-load type fish. They are good for processing ammonia quickly to less toxic things ending with nitrate.
If your livestock does not care about high nitrates, then it's fine. More sensitive fish and especially corals will not tolerate excessive nutrients in the water.
A wet/ dry filter cannot process the final nitrate to nitrogen stage and therefore is not suitable for sensitive animals.
More or less....
