Fins & Fur in the Boro

Yeah, it looks like they deleted all posts related to her store, but none of the other ones. It is rather disappointing that they get such a bad reputation. I have done business with them myself and was not impressed either. One thing I do remember from my last conversation with Krystal was that they were open for suggestions. Maybe someone needs to educate her on what she is doing wrong. I am sure if you guys were to throw your suggestions at her in a non-aggresive manner, she would consider them. I am not defending the way they run their store by any means, but if all we do is bash their business that would surely not bring anything positive to any of us or them. If you give a genuinely good suggestion to better their business and they do not take it, at least you know you did what you could. How they do business and take care of their livestock is ultimatly up to them, but I feel it is somewhat our reponsibility to help educate those who need it, regardless of how long they have been in the hobby or if they own a business. That's the point of this hobby right? To help other's succesfully keep marine organisms and not let them only survive but thrive. For people that have not joined this club that would make more sense to not help someone out, but I would think since you joined a club your character would be different.

That is just my two cents. Take it for what it is worth.

I'm curious as to what has happened with this store to rub so many members of MTRC the wrong way? I've seen quit. A few negative post.

I have personally been given some bad information on multiple occasions. That is the only problem I have ever had. They are very nice, but seem a little too under educated to be running a fish store. I am by no means the local fish guru, but I think if they were to talk to someone that was really up on their fish stuff they could attract more business and get more repeat clientel.

Every one in the stor is super nice but I just don't like how they will sale you any fish for any tank just to make money and I have asked her the same question more than once and got a diff answer every time like she was just making something up

I have found the selection of supplies extremely limited at both their stores comapred to other(s) in the area, especially for serious reefers like amny in the club. Service is having what I need for general staples.

im not trying to burst everyone's bubble, but what did you folks expect? ...i wouldnt expect any employees to really know a ton of info...cause i assume they are not getting paid much....seems like everyone's saying they cant even compare to AC or Ebay, but how often do we see topics like "why is [insert LFS here] so expensive!?!?!?"....its pretty common to see group buys around here right?.......take it for what it is folks :)

Not just the employee, the owner herself doesn't know much at all! I agree they price the way they price, I still purchase stuffs even though it is higher then online pricing, but depends on the customer service, that does matter!

Well I stoped by and was going to buy a 200g box of salt and she wanted $58.00 that is just crazy do you think some one will be selling salt at the swap

I doubt there will be salt at the Swap unless the Aquatic Critter is coming & they bring a box or 2. The 1 time I was in there I did notice she had a few bags of the Brightwell Salt it was real pricey also.

Yeah she thinks a lot of all her stuff I think that will be my last trip in there unless its a have to I guess I will have to make the 1.5 hour trip to the criter or order online

Ebayfish has It for 36.00 If I'm not mistaken and always has It In stock. Critter sell Oceanic If you want that salt too.

I was in Fins and Fur Monday and just wanted to say Krystal (sp?) was super helpful and seemed quiet knowledgable. I picked up a nice power brown for $38 which I think was a good price.

With all due respect, things aren't always what they "seem". ;)

With ANYone in reefing, double check what they tell you.
