Fire clowns finally spawned!

Well my lazy arse fire clowns finally came through :D Just a week after the percs got busy too.

So if all goes well in 4-6 months I'll be able to offer oc's, tomatos, gsm's, percs and fires. I recently aquired two promising pair of clarkii's as well so maybe I can add them to the list too. Since my marketing strategety seems to be selling as many fish as possible directly to lfs rather than taking half price at wholesale, having a good variety should be helpful.

Heck, maybe I can even get these damned orchid dottybacks figured out by then as well

Plus I still have Nicole's watchman gobies I haven't even fooled with yet.

Could be an interesting year around here

Tomato and fire clown sushi should be tasty!

concentrate on the clarks and occ if you wanna have a good year

I could not open the pic...

And you still have the Bluestripe pipefish, right?

Yes, and the 6 pairs of bangaii. AND I now have a 6th pair of oc's spawning as of last night. Edgar has it right, all effort goes to the oc's first, the gsm's next and then the clarks IF they spawn  I can't GIVE away the tomatos and I'm sure the fires will be the same :( Still it's nice to have variety, the more oc's I have the more customers... the more customers the more I can unload the other species :smokin: Have I mentioned the the mollies? For years I have been breeding sw mollies just for kicks, have a few hundred of them at any time. I use them as feeders but sell a good number as well ;)

MOLLIES - the first fish I ever bred (yup, Guppies were actually #2)! Got some nice Green Sailfins going in SW? HECK, I should get a pair just for kicks...I remember being a 10 year old, giving my Mollies short 2-3 hour "exursions" to my 10 gallon SW Tank with a little spotted puffer, yellowtail blue damsel and juv. French Angelfish ;)

Oh, how I still love the plain old Green Sailfin Molly!

No pics? ;)

Matt

Congrats David, Sounds like a buisy year :) I really wonder how all you guy/gals do it, Maybe I should quit my day job! :)
Best of luck David,
Carl;

Fires have a new nest already, ten days from the first. The first pair of clarkii's laid this morning. I've had them 22 days. Amazing :D Still doesn't top the 16 days it took Nicole's o's to lay but it's not bad now is it?

The second pair of clarks (wc) have brook, trying to save them.

Ah, well.... you might recall a recent thread where Edgar talks about scrubbing the broodstock tanks clean daily? Perhaps you read my bit about letting the algae grow so thick you can't see through the glass? Unless you expect me to remove them from the water a pic of the Fire pair would basically be like looking at piece of forrest green construction paper, can you picture that ?

How the heck do you know when they spawn then? ;) Lazy no good algae farmer, that's all you are :P

Good luck!

Matt

Algae farming =

4) nutrient export
3) pair privacy
2) substarte for critters (free food)

and...

1) A LOT less work
