Watermelon, the only things in the tanks that can ever really hurt you are:

1. lionfish fins
2. rabbitfish fins
3. cone mollusks [very rare]
4. blue ring octopus [even rarer]
5. coral catfish fins...not so rare.

Bristleworms can sting you, but are harmless to your health. They're like touching a cactus, annoying but not dangerous. And bristleworms are good for your tank.

Anemones can give you a rash, but it goes away soon. Run hot water over any sting. It helps.

The little things that bother the fish are too little to bother us.

You left off several LPS which can cause a very nasty sting and also the toxins that zoanthids produce. :D

That's true: torch coral is pretty stiff, and I sure wouldn't pipette water that zoas were in: thanks for the reminder. Watermelon is mostly worried I think about some of the parasites that get on fish getting on people, or burrowing in under the skin---that will not happen in our tanks. But it is a real serious worry, regarding some freshwater parasites in the southern hemisphere. There are some African rivers I wouldn't swim in, for sure, because of just such issues.

But as far as I know there is nothing like that in the ocean---for which we can all be grateful.

Stone Fish: worse than octopus. Unless you have anti-venom on hand, you have 5 minutes until death. I actually saw one for sale in Atlanta as well. Blue ring octos are right up there too...not so much from the standpoint that they are lethal (they are, but you have a good 20 minutes), but if you are alone you are screwed. They have TNN in their toxin, it causes neuro-muscular paralisys...as in, you are dying, even end up stop breathing, and all you can do it lay there and not even move an eyeball. Even if you make it, there are severe mental and motor complications down the road.

Then there is that fibro-granular infection. That seems to be the biggest concern for a LFS worker to me...its got the highest chance of happening.

fibro-granular infection!!?!?!?!?!?, what is that!?, dear god, can some1 help me?, sk8r thanks for your info, and thasnk to all, sure i will evade all tings that can be harmfull, if you all can meke me a list i will apreciate it, thanks
.

NO1 ISOPOD! look like the ones on my fish =(, but i ve decided to dip the fish in 2 galons of freshwater w two teaspoons of methilene blue, is that good?, and abouth buying a UV?, what do you all tink?, coralife 9wats UV is agood choise?, thanks to all!.

the UV is to kill what passes through it...isopods, let alone your fish, arent going to go through the UV. You can try the FW dip, or you can use the Interceptor in the dip as well...but isopods can be some tough buggers...QTing the fish is the first priority IMO, and if thats not possible...thats why I say flush it. Its more of a threat being left in the existing tank with the other critters.

hey, now the firefish only have 2 of that glass lokking tink w a lot of black small sots, i tink hes better, what can that b?,

Did you do that freshwater dip already? If there are only a couple left maybe you can do another one. make sure you do not use tap water from your house use nice clean RO water. You know what that is right? I just want to make sure you know, so your fish will be alright.

Hey, i go vacation, lol, but im back, Teremei, dont worry i use clean pure water, not from a ro or di filter but its safe. Must say firefish is healty, alive and theres no parasites ;), i dont flush it its so cruel....
I want to give hope to all people who have this problems, this is not lethal or something, freshwater dips help a lot!, and maintain you fish happy and dont stress him. Thanks to all!.
