first attempt D90 iwth 18-135 lens (not a macro lens)

Hello,
Unitl i get my macro lens, i started trying to shoot the tank with the nikkon 18-135 lens

not clear, and have the shadow of the big window in the room
but here they are for a reference for what will come (hope better)
 
this is a good start, but some quick pointers: always shoot perpendicular to the glass. this will minimize distortion from the glass, itself. also, it looks like you may have been shooting handheld. do you have a tripod? you will greatly increase the sharpness of your images by using a tripod. Also, you can close your blinds on the window, and it will minimize the reflection. The less light coming through the window, the less reflection you'll have. good luck, and keep shooting!

i don't have tripod now, but i'll get one when i go to get the macro lens
for shooting perpendicular to glass, i thought i should be tilt to down for not getting refection
i'll try your hint :)
