First Lunar Pics

Hello All,

Thanks to some inspiration here on the forums like jroovers pics, I set out to get a telescope to get some astronomical pics myself. Here is my first set of lunar pics. I used a 6" Dobsonian/Newtonian telescope and my cell phone.

The first 2 are from the 19th at 5k feet, the 3rd and 4th are from the 20th at 10k feet. Once I get this picture thing down, ill have a lot more to post!

Very nice. How did you take the photo with the cell phone, just held it up to the viewfinder?

Good job and you choose the perfect date. 9/19 is Chinese "the Moon Festival or the Mid-Autumn Festival "(on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month). The moon is so round and beautiful.:thumbsup:

Thank you both, yeah I just held the phone up, I am thinking of crafting a phone holder outta balsa wood and a clamp.

Sweet, I did not know that! The 19th was awesome the 20th had 4% gone.

So looking at these now, they were not the best ones, once I get my lunar project for my AST class, ill post a full cycle. Oh and I'm getting a solar filter in about a week
