Just got the Canon EOS Rebel XTi and this is my first attempt. If anyone has experience with this DSLR, please let me know the benefit of having a 75-300 lense. It came with the package I got at my local BestBuy.

Thanks and hope you enjoy....

I love my Xti. 75-300 is a pretty killer zoom lens. Take it outside and play with it by looking down the street. Take it to a ball game, it is cool. It's also good for animals at the zoo!

But for the tank, it is probably not going to be too practical. You will have to be pretty far back from your subject in order to focus, and that means you will have more issues with distortion from the glass/acrylic of the tank. A tripod would be a must-have.

Are you using manual focus? It looks like you hit focus just beyond that ricordia. So close. That 18-55 kit lens is best in its midrange

If you want to use autofocus, try using the "grid" on the camera to select the point where you want to focus and then put that dot on your subject. Don't let the camera guess, it will always get it wrong. lol

:D

I noticed that. I use auto focus and was trying to figure out the grid. Thanks again I will keep trying. Getting a tripod today.
