It isn't a closed loop if it is incorporated into the sump. Then again, I don't understand how everything works. Having one hole drain water out to the skimmer (raw tank water hopefully) and returning back into the sump doesn't affect microbubble issues. Another pump drawing water to go to the main/fuge/frag means you've got three systems draining into the sump at that same rate.

The one for the chiller shouldn't be a problem either.

This is going to be an interesting thread. ;)

i meant CL the chiller in main sump, custom built enclosed baffle with holes drilled in them where treated water from skimmer, calcium, kalk, & rhowphos is return to then pull from baffle and return to main, frag, & 2nd fuge. i didnt want to treat the whole sump then return it to main tank, needed to concentrate on just a single location where all good and treated water is going to be return back to main, frag, & 2nd fuge.

1 return pump is "T" to main tank and frag
2 return pump is "T" to main tank and 2nd fuge

So how many GPH do you think you'll be moving through the sump? Two return pumps on one tank should add up to some significant speed.

still have few more pieces of plumbing to sump and hopefully get to check pumps later this week. also have anyone have problems with these pumps because just check my 5800 for CL2 and found out that is leaking from the seal, check my connections and tighten the drain plug and still leaks. look likes its been leaking for probably a good week or so judging from the residue on the mat.

leaking is common I think for these initially. Have you tried a little 100% silicone grease? I pulled mine apart, wiped the gasket down and re-greased it. if it persists, contact MDM Inc.. They'll help you out.

please let me know what type of paint you used to paint your arylic tank and how many layer ? thank you in advance.

Very nice set up.

just got of the phone with Chris from reeflo and will be sending replacement seals kit for 3 pumps, also customer service is awesome, thanks.

Hey Bart,

Lookin' very impressive! I have a question: do you have redundant drain lines from your extra tanks? I didn't try to count them all, but it kinda looked like there was only one per tank. I wonder if that is the case... I would be concerned about possible drain failure and flooding if you were to lose a drain for some reason. Have you a plan for this possibility?

thanks ben, and yes that was the first thing i thought of before any other plans was made. 1st water change sump has 1.5" drain at the bottom, 2nd main sump has overflow drain, and skimmer has waste drain too.

Hey Bart,

Where are the square pipes? :)

Everything looks great!

thanks chris, was able to find any fittings for them so i decided to go with the round one instead. :mixed:

ok getting ready to plumb main overflow into main sump, my 1st idea was to run carbon above water line so detritus build up and other sediments wont get filter back in main sump or just have the bag in the water which i think might not be a good idea.

2nd main overflow to 1st refugium, my idea was to make an overflow box in there where bulk was drilled already then flow into enclosed baffle in main sump. instead of 1.5" overflow drain that 90 up

thanks all for your kind comments and any suggestions will be really helpful
